“The Zula Inn aparthotel is amazing!”
Reviewed August 17, 2010

to those looking for a beautigul place with great people and excellent service this is the place. we were there two years ago and had the time of our lives. We stayed in one of the cute bungalows they have to offer. Spent most of the time in Santa Teressa around the Zula inn swimming pool because it was so fun around there. If you plan on staying in Costa Rica in Santa Teressa I highly reccomand this place. Oh and Rotem and Avi are honestly good people. They are there for you in every need and plus they are a lot of fun to be around.

My wife and I are both well traveled. From backpacking in India, New Zealand, Europe to leisure vacation in Toscana Italy, Egypt, Canada, etc.. During this 1st visit to Costa Rica we found the Zula in a small heaven. Zula in Hebrew means Nirvana, Chill, and this place truly symbolizes that. The owners Avi and Rotem, created a high value experience of homey atmosphere and amazing apartments/suites. Just so you will understand how much we liked this place, we came for 2 days and ended up staying 12.
Their restaurant called Zula was also a pleasure we were never disappointed every dish was tasty and had a homey flavor (they makes killer Schnitzel and Falafel!). If you want to make your Costa Rica vacation a memorable one this place is highly recommended. The owners are always there to assist with any requests, information, and questions.

Just got back today from staying at Zula Inn in Santa Teresa, I highly reccomend it. It is not on the beach, and I know that seems to be a deciding factor for a lot of tourists, but come on the beach is right across the street, and none of the hotels offer a room with a beach view. If you want a comfortable, sweet, and cozy place to stay you stay at zula. These are all the reasons why its a perfect place to stay while you are in costa rica: A/C, cable television w/ some american channels, family owned and ran, bar, pool, hammocks, wildlife, jungle, clean, quiet, private, not-too big, very exclusive, free wi-fi, kitchen, toaster oven, utensils hot plate everything you need to cook with, sink, refrigerator, daily cleaning, they also have a restaurant down the street( ZULA RESTAURANT) that will deliver to you, good prices on surf lessons. Only one complaint unfortunately, the hot water in the shower is heated electrically so do not touch it you can be shocked and hurt, alot of foreigners and traveleres do not know this but thats just how the water is heated there it is completely fine to shower as long as you do not mess with it, I only want to warn others so you dont get zapped. THIS was an overall amazing place to stay though, I do highly reccomend it, and only offer my complaint as a warning and informative message. definitely a hidden gem hotel of santa teresa that will satisfy you.

We have stayed at Zula many, many times and have a fantastic stay every time. The grounds/gardens are gorgeous. The pool is a good size and has quite a shallow area so my toddler can walk around safely without wings. Then we can put the swim wings on and move to the deep end where they like to play in the corner with the waterfall. The rooms are spacious and super clean and we get a cabina with two rooms so that my husband and I can have our privacy. We actually originally found Zula because we were looking for cabinas with two attached bedrooms. These are hard to come by- esp. in this price range! Pilo maintains the grounds and he was super helpful and kind. The ladies who cleaned our rooms were gems and doted upon the girls constantly. The supermarket is a stone's throw away which is so helpful with children, as are a handful of restaurants within walking distance. Zula Inn was great. And while there be sure to try to Zula falafel (with guac!) which is sold at the Zula restaurant down the road. Super tasty.

Yids read until the end.
Zula Inn was a great choice for me and my wife. We were in CR for our honeymoon for 3 weeks and this was our best stop. We stayed in pretty expensive places all around CR and we found Santa Teresa to be our favorite location and the Zula inn to be the most comfortable and inviting place. We stayed for 5 daysand the value was great. the room was a cabina style with a full kitchen, brand new fridge, hot plate, sink and dishes. Its right across the main dirt road from the beach. 500M.
Avi and Rotem, owners at Zula were simply the most helpful people we met in CR. They helped us with everything we needed. Renting ATVS, booking other trips, surfing lessons, they gave us rides if we needed and even having a chat for 20 min about life.
This is a great place to just chill out. and the whole area is just unbelievable. We are going back again for sure!!! P.S we were a kosher couple and they have a synagogue in the area and Avi can help direct you to a rabbi who is in Santa Teresa. Very rare but helpfull to those who need it.

While I've definitely stayed in worse, my friend and I were not exactly blown away by the Zula Inn for the price and given our expectations from the strong reviews on Tripadvisor. We were in Costa Rica for 2 weeks and this was probably near the bottom of the hotels we stayed at.

Perhaps it was just luck of the draw but we didn't have much positive interaction with the hosts - in fact, they were impossible to find anytime we needed something. What else - there were bugs in the room. There was a TV in the room but it was placed in the most awkward position near the ceiling without tilting making it impossible to watch (not that that is hugely important, just saying they don't seem to have the little things right). The pool area was nice but nothing extremely out of the ordinary. In terms of location, it appeared to be a bit on the outskirts of the main drag of town and was a bit of a walk to the beach.

All in all, just an average, or slightly below average, place and I would definitely try someplace else next time.
