We have a home in the area, and often eat in the hotel restaurant (Brisas del Mar). When doing so, I have often looked up at the hotel and wondered what it must be like up there. So this past trip I walked up to it and was blown away by the site.

I enjoy the spirit, the view, the nature, the surf and the service so much, that I cannot find the correct words. It is my 10th time visiting Surf Hotel Buenos Aires in Costa Rica, sometimes together with my friends, sometimes only with my wife and also alone. Definitely the best spot to check swell and to get in touch with the locals and the waves. Thanks to Javier for the friendship and the surf wax, Evangelos

we have sayed at Buenos Aires Surf Hotel twice a year for the past ten years. we have traveled all over Costa Rica and always come back to stay with Javi and Flo, the owners. They make you feel so special and part of the family each time we visit. They are so helpful with "local Knowledge." We highly recomend staying at Buenos Aires also because the view from up on the hill is spectacular. They have a great pool, easy access to great surfing, and the best Restaurant in the entire Nicoya Peninsula.

First: Thanks to the kind owners and hosts of Buenos Aires hotel, Javier and Flo, for a great time at youre wonderful place! We really enjoyed oure stay.

The place is located appr. 5 min. stiep walk up the hill from the mainroad in Santa Teresa and it provides a fantastic 180 degree view over the coastline and the surfbreaks. You are high above the dust and noise below and can just relax in one of the hotels hammocks and have a perfect overview of the lines comming in.
The rooms has a good standard and the hotels property is very well held. The daily room cleaning is also very good.

The hotels connected restaurant, Brisas Del Mar, is definitely the areas best restaurant. We ate dinner at Brisas many evenings and were satisfied every time. Electric limonade is a must!

If you walk 15 min. further up in the hills behind Buenos Aires you will probably see many species of birds, groups of monkeys, reptiles etc. Welcome to the jungle!

Thanks again, Javier and Flo, for being so helpful and serviceminded, and for youre warm hospitality.

We will definetely stay at Buenos Aires again if we travel back to Santa Teresa.

Best rgds from Norway

Wake up to the smell of coffee, and the sound of surf thundering below. Open your door, walk out onto the terrace, fill your cup with freshly brewed Costa Rican gold, and look out over the beach hundreds of feet below. From the chair you are sitting in, you can see for miles, and think about where you want to go for the morning. There are plenty of choices within easy walking distance. Maybe you will Join the owner Javier in the water. If you are up after six, you missed him. He gets in early so he can get back in time to take superb care of his place, and his guests.
Maybe you will head a few steps down the hill to one of the several restaurants, shops, even yoga studios nearby. You could go right to the beach, or travel to the nearby park. Maybe you will just fall back in to one of the hammocks permanently hung in front of your room, and sip another cup of coffee. You could head down to the Chrystal clean pool located right next to the restaurant. They are both down a short path on the next terrace down the hill. One of the great things about Buenos Aires is that it is located close to everything, but because it is high on a hill, you feel like you are above it all, in your own world. Yes, it is very quiet.
Whatever you do during the day, make sure you catch at least one sunset from the beautifully manicured green lawn in front of your room. Sunsets are an event at Buenos Aires. Javier and Florencia have created the perfect space to either sit quietly and take it all in, or to mingle with other guests while the best sunsets you have ever seen explode, then subside over the warm pacific below.
Warning: You will not want to leave. Life is too good and too easy here. Go you must, because the rest of the country has so much to offer… But you will be back.
