My wife and I had a series of mediocre meals at the Four Seasons, and we wanted to find a delicious meal somewhere 'off property.' We found Abboccato, which exceeded every expectation.
Here's the breakdown: intimate dining room, charming and attentive service, world class cuisine, and they opened bottles of wine that weren't 'by the glass' for me to pair with different courses. Desserts were not an afterthought, either. They were delicious and well composed.
The chef, who is Venetian, has training in several Michelin starred restaurants, and has worked across Europe, Asia, and Central America. He was a one-man show for us when we visited. He was the maitre d', the server, and the chef. His wife, who is also a chef, was not there that night. He is a very sweet, earnest man who is very committed to putting out the best quality food possible. Abboccato is hospitable, personable, and sophisticated.
They do two different three course menus each night, one fish and one meat. You can mix and match courses from the two menus.
