This is excellent value for money. We stayed in Costa Rica for 11 nights, and stayed here for the duration. In the Guanacaste province, this hotel is well placed for day trips and adventures. The hotel staff were typical Ticos, very friendly and helpful.
Initially we moved rooms after 2 or 3 nights, not because there was anything wrong with the room, but because we were in the busier part of the hotel grounds which was near the pool and music. This wasn't particularly loud, if you enjoy that sort of thing, but we were there for the wildlife and relaxation. The staff were happy to oblige and moved us to a quieter area.
The food was fantastic, with theme nights and fresh food buffet. You could also book an evening in the Italian restaurant, or Chinese. Both of which were fantastic. The drinks and cocktails were branded names and very tasty!
We went on several excursions during our stay, all booked through the hotel. These are highly recommended, particularly the Beuna Vista Tour, which includes, Pony Trekking, mud spa experience, zip line tours and water slide. An excellent day out!
This is not a Sandals resort with imported white sand, this is wild! Loads of hermit crabs, Coatis and bugs to observe! Much better if you ask me!
We only wish we were still there... :-(More
