Absolutely wonderful. The Four Seasons catered to your every needs. The room was clean every day. There is no breakfast plan, about $89 USD for breakfast for two. Expensive for food. Its out on a peninsula so you are basically stuck at the resort if you don't have a car. There are two beaches at the resort. The resort also offers a shuttle to two local beaches. We went in August 2012, which is the rainy season, beach water was warm and swimable, no waves. The staff is also wonderful. They go out of there way to get you anything you need, super friendly. The resort offers a golf tour and daily hiking around the property. I would definately go back. Value is good if you can affod it. Very expensive but you pay for what you get and the experience is well worth it.

Room Tip: All rooms face the ocean but with the foliage you cannot see the ocean. We had no trouble with noise.

Thank you so much for your great review – I am glad to read that your experience was well worth it and that our staff has been wonderful. Glad to know you enjoyed the activities we are offering, next time; make sure to try out the snorkeling tour as well as the grass tennis court – how fun is that! So much more to discover on the Peninsula – come back soon!
Regards,
Pascal

Amazing location, but in the middle of no where. Rooms a bit dark for my taste. Service, the best as always. Beautiful clean beach right by the pools. Lots of food options but basic Good to take tours so you can see the great vegetation and wild life. Rains every day at around 2 pm in the rainy season. A good break from the Sun.

You are absolutely right, those afternoon showers are a great break of the sun – and a perfect moment to finish reading that vacation book. Thank you for your feedback on the food quality. Basic is of course not good enough for us - we will make sure to impress you during your next trip to Costa Rica.
Best regards, Pascal

Just returned from ten days at the Four Season's Costa Rica. We had a wonderful time. We spent the first two nights in a canopy suite and them moved to a pacifico villa. What a marvelous property with spectacular views and plush grounds. The staff was amazing, service impeccable and food delicious. Be sure to visit the spa, golf course and tennis center. Both beaches are wonderful for swimming. Playa Blanca has great snorkeling and water activities. Be warned that this is a "Four Season's" so food and drink are expensive, but well worth it. We hope to return one day. If you are hesitating, don't. It's a vacation of a lifetime.

PS: be sure to go on a tour of Arenal volcano. It's a long drive from the resort, but can't be missed.

Room Tip: all rooms are beautiful. we has hoped for an ocean view but were delighted to see monkeys outside our window with the jungle view room.

We went to The Four Seasons on our honeymoon in October. The views are gorgeous, the food was delicious, and the staff is super friendly and very helpful! We also liked a lot of the activities they had in the resort...hikes, cooking lessons in the kitchen, Dance classes and of course, Mixology! So fun!

The rooms were super clean and had great outdoor patio as well! We had a pretty good view on the first (bottom) floor, but I would recommend staying on a higher floor. We still enjoyed our stay-we even heard monkeys on our last night there early in the morning! They sounded like they were right outside our room! So
Neat!

Our favorite thing to do was to sit at the chairs outside of the bar facing the beach, have some drinks, and eat apps/sushi during sunset...absolutely beautiful and super romantic! You don't see the actual sunset, but the colors on the water and the views are amazing!!! If you want a more casual/light dinner, I would highly recommend that!

Also, we went in late October, which is during rainy season, and the rain didn't affect us as all! The days it did rain, it was only for a few minutes late afternoon. But the weather was great! I also liked that it was their slow season, so you felt like you were the only people in the resort! Soooo great! Some of the staff said it is really busy at the popular times to go, but I would go back again in October- you got every reservation you wanted, pick any seat at the pool, and got into every activity! The staff is amazing! Highly recommend it!

We spend 3 nights in this fantastic hotel in Costa Rica. We were a party of 11 (two couples with 4 and 3 children respectively, 16-21 years old).
As usual in 4 S, excellent services (really outstanding), location (two beautiful beaches surrounding the rooms and the hotel), facilities, food (the best breakfast, as always)... but in this occasion the welcoming to the hotel was clearly below expectations. We were sent as soon as we arrived to our rooms (with almost no explanation at all about the hotel), and nobody went together with us to the rooms and nobody took the time to make the normal explanation of the room, its features, the key timetables of the hotel... The logical and usual explanations you get when you arrive in an hotel, even of lower category.
The other point, when comparing it with other 4S beach resorts, such as the one in Seychelles, is that its privacy is clearly lower.
Apart from this, extraordinary.
