Atv / canopy tour started on roads but eventually turned to dirt roads as we made our way for about an hour to higher ground where the zip lining /canopy tour was to take place. Found myself wishing it would rain to keep the dust down. Definitely need to bring sunglasses or some form of eye protection to get maximum fun from the trip / keep dust out of eyes. The rivers we crossed and odd muddy patches were fun and a welcome relief from the dust. Saw skinny cows and skinny dogs on the way along with lots of chickens plus friendly locals. After a last river crossing we arrived at the canopy tour. The guides seemed a little jaded to start but warmed up and were quite entertaining as the trip progressed. Not a trip for those scared of heights but ok if you don't look down too much. Accessing the tree tops is from a ground based staircase that leads to a bridge and tree top platforms. After a quick safety briefing we were off zooming from tree to tree, efficiently hooked on by our two guides. My 14 year old son was quickly doing some of the rides upside down - he even did " super hombre" - where you lie flat and go face first with guide holding your legs. My 17 year old daughter gave that a miss. Anyhow the rides were good and occasionally fast without ever being terrifyingly high. We enjoyed an impromptue demonstration of how some plants fold up their leaves when touched, a tarantula in its hole, and howler monkeys before taking sme of the longer and faster zip lioness back to the start. No pressure to buy anything/ clean toilets to wash up in before ATV ride back to start - by a different route " over the mountain". Actually felt like we were following a small stream back to the shore most of the time. Lots of water and great big muddy splashes. Felt like we were avoiding being tracked - losing our deet sent - as we spent a fair percentage of time in streams. Highlight was getting stuck in mud in mid stream - got pretty mucky as we pulled and pushed to get our ATVs out. Made for some good memories great photos and muddy clothes. Highly recommended - with or without impromptu mud bath. People were great and were happy to pick us up and drop us off at our rental
