It's not just the Caribbean right out your door or the amazing country of Belize that make Hamanasi a jewel. The warmth of both the other guests and the staff make you feel like you are among friends. The staff does everything to help make your stay one you won't forget. They will accommodate special requests for trips that may not be on the schedule the day you want to go on an inland adventure. The rooms are beautifully decorated and include porches with hammocks. The marine staff help make you feel very safe if you choose to learn to scuba dive, which we did.
During Happy hour at the bar everyone is friendly and inclusive. I went with my 25 year old son who I hadn't seen in many months. We were a bit worried we would feel weird not being among the young couple group. Not at all the case! Families, couples, singles...this is a place for everyone. We loved Hamanasi and Belize. This place redefined for me what a good hotel should be. their service goes beyond "fussing over" you and instead really truly 'takes care of you" your biggest problem is whether to do an adventure or hang out in the hammock. there is a warmth and real sincerity in all the staff regardless of position. we spent 5 days and snorkeled (highlight was seeing the spotted eagle rays out on the unspoiled reef) and hiked (up to a jungle waterfall seeing jaguar prints and learning about jungle herbs). Kayaking and Birding where our daughter could see iguanas and toucans too. the food was abundant and varied. our time in the treehouse was super fun. all this with thoughfully executed eco-mission throughout - no throw away plastic items, re-usable water bottles, garden on the property, responsibly sourced food etc.

Room Tip: we liked the tree houses for their privacy and space

My wife and I went there last week and are still in awe of the experience we had. The great reviews which Hamanasi garners are all true and spot on. It was truly a life changing experience. Even though the property itself was perfect in every way, it is the people that made it so special. We love Belize and Hamanasi and will be back again soon. Thanks to all of the staff for everything you do. Don't ever change. John&CC.

We picked the Hamanasi Adventure and Dive Resort because it was ranked by TripAdvisor’s Travellers Choice 2012 as top hotel for service in Central America and number two in the world.

After spending time at this boutique eco-luxury beach property, with its Treehouse suites and ocean views, we immediately understood why guests return year after year. Beyond the extensive selection of reef and rainforest activities and incredible dining (care of Executive Chef Sheridan Polanco who we later found out had the honour of cooking for Prince Harry on his March 2012 trip to Belize), the Hamanasi offers something that is extremely rare – a truly genuine appreciation and caring for its guests.

Throughout our stay we felt as if each member of the resort staff were part of our extended family, from Golden who toured us through Hopkins Village to the ever-smiling waitress Pauline who has worked at the resort since it opened more than 11 years ago.

Although the Hamanasi is renowned for its all-inclusive diving and adventure packages, which at 6 months pregnant I couldn’t participate in, we happily spent our time walking the beach, exploring Hopkins, sunning ourselves poolside and visiting the neighbouring Butterflies Spa for couples massages and relaxation treatments.

Can't wait to return with our daughter in a few years time.

My husband and I celebrated our 10-year anniversary by spending a week at Hamanasi and it was pure heaven. In all the vacations that we've taken over the years to many countries, the property, amenities, activities, dining, and most of all customer service were beyond compare. The staff were all very knowledgeable about excursions on both land and sea, food preparation, remembering the names of all guests, and even the details I needed to navigate a gluten allergy so that I never once felt that I had to "go without" during the whole trip. They even went so far as to remember to send a special gluten-free pack lunch for me on the Cockscomb Wildlife Sanctuary hike!

Inland guides really know their stuff, from history and archaeology, to flora and fauna, local economies, and cultures ranging from Garifuna to Maya to Mestizo. We learned a lot from Golden and Hartfield! The dive crew were also excellent and took very good care of all divers. We'd like to give a special shout out to Martin, C.Dog, Terrill and Mario for being especially awesome!

The property itself is beautifully maintained and manicured, quiet, relaxing, and really just a small slice of heaven in an otherwise chaotic world. This resort really delivers on eco-friendly practices, sustainability, and community involvement and education. I hope that Hamanasi will always stay as small and intimate as it is now. We arrived as welcomed guests, but feel we left as new friends and we will certainly be back.

Just spent a week at Hamanasi for our honeymoon, and it didn't take more than the first few hours for us to start talking about when we could come back!

Everything was amazing - the fabulous, private treehouse, the friendly, attentive staff who learned our names the first day, the delicious meals that changed daily, the wonderful adventures with knowledgeabe guides. Really about the best vacation I've ever had.

Hamanasi is small and quiet, blending right into the jungle. You are off the beaten path, but close enough to the small village of Hopkins to walk or bike in to see the local craftsmen - we especially recommend Alex's conch shell jewelry and David's woodworking. There are nightly changes to the menu, and happy hour drinks each evening. However, be prepared that it's not the place to go for nightlife - people are usually recovering from or preparing for an adventure, so this isn't the place if you want to party all night at a club! It was exactly what we were looking for, the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement.

We could not recommend Hamanasi more!
