I spent a considerable time planning our honeymoon in Belize and consistantly Hamanasi came out on top. I had very high expectations going to this hotel... and impressively they were comrpehensively exceeded in every regard. I cannot stress enough how enjoyable it was and how much we appreciated the "personal touch" that the staff at Hamanasi do so well. Everyone knew our names form day one and frequently staff would ask about the specific activites we had been doing that day without even having to ask what activity we did - they always knew!

Treehouse accomodation was fantastic and we really appreciated the beautiful romantic room set up on the first evening we arrived, particulraly the welcome message.

Activities were fantastic and we were very pelsed with how the dive staff advised us to jump straight in on what was liekly to be the last successful whale shark trip of may - and they were right - we saw a number of whale sharks up to 30ft in length. Dive staff - particularly C-Dog were excellent as was the boat crew and all the boats we used. Great lunches provided and we enjoyed the reef diving where we saw several turtles close up - something i have missed in my 200+ scientific dives! Terrestrial guides and activities were equally impressive and fun inc mayan ruins, bird walking and kayaking and guides had great local knowledge. We would also recommend a hiring a golf kart and exploring the local village.

Front of desk staff and the waiters and bar staff (particularly mark, ambrosio, kenneth and brinilla) were especially welcoming, warm and friendly and always put a smile on your face. Bar staff were very speedy and cocktails were superb, particularly enjoyed that there was always a daily special and it was inc on the happy hour! Great work. Was also veyr nice that the female staff consistantly complimented my wife on her jewellery etc and this seemed very genuine adn really made my wife feel special.

Front of house staff were great at organising and were very speedy in resolving issues so thanks to all! Also have to mention the guys and girls who seem to do the small details - continuously sweeping the sand and tidying, doing up the rooms etc and really noticed their efforts.

Basically, couldnt imagine getting better service anywhere else - this hotel really deserves its reputation - we have recommended to many people.

Thanks again Hamanasi

Pete & Diana

We went to Hamanasi specifically for the diving. The barrier reefs were spectacular and the dive masters were terrific. C dog and SP were fun and professional dive masters. While we didn't take advantage of the land adventures everyone returning raved about them. But, as great as those experiences were, in retrospect, the dining was what I remember and would return for because it was amazing. Every meal we ate (we bought the meal plan) was beyond 5 star expectations. Variety and taste sensation, and presentation were awesome.

Room Tip: Beachfront rooms are great, we were very happy we chose one!

My pet peeve about the Hamanasi resort was having to leave. My wife and I travel a lot. We have never been treated as well as we were at Hamanasi, Belize. It needs to be a city within itself. Our vacations are not "Veg-Out's"; we travel to explore and I can't say enough about our location, the staff and Manager in Hamanasi. Two hours after we checked-in we were on a Jaguar hike in the preserve. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about informing us on what we saw and would see. This was on a Friday night when I'm sure he was on his way home for the weekend, but he stayed to make sure we were accomidated. The staff knew our names before we arrived, and each member of the staff recognized us on sight, even the groundskeeper, every day. The chef was in a class above any 5 Star restaraunt chef. The presentation, aroma, taste and combinations were superior.
The Resort atmosphere was as if you brought home and family with you. If there were problems, they were addressed immediately and solved. All of the excursions were well executed and on time. Our trip to Tikal, Guatamala was hassle free at the border. Our guide took care of all passport stamps and we just walked across the border, legally, even on the return to Belize.
Hamanasi Resort is why I will come back to Belize.

Room Tip: We sampled all of their treehouses. While the deluxe was truly that with hot tub and a lot of ammeni...

My husband and I enjoyed every thing about our trip to and our stay at Hamanasi! There was so much to do! We rode the provided bikes into Hopkins and enjoyed touring the small town. We kayaked the river and the sea! We visited the Mayan ruins with a very knowledgable guide who was very passionate about the history there. We went on a cave tour too! The main reason for choosing Belize and Hamanasi though was the diving! So beautiful! The dive master guides were very safety aware and went out of their way to assure we had a safe dive and got to see the marine life. We got to see sea turtles, lobster, rays, nurse shark and even a tiny sea horse. There was always plenty of staff to help with our gear and to help us in and out of the water. I totaly trusted all the dive staff with my safety. All of the staff, dive masters and boat crew, grounds keepers(the grounds are very well kept and maintained), house keepers ( our room was very beautifully prepared for us with a personaized welcome), drivers and guides, front desk staff, food service staff, all were so very gracious. They made us feel welcomed and cared for. I must not forget the food! It was fresh and delicious! Beautifly presented! The atmosphere was very relaxing. The whole experience was really "WOW"

Room Tip: from our second floor, corner room we had a view of the sea from one side and the mountains and jung...

Wife and 2 daughters (college age) had a great time at Hamanasi...

Service -- the staff are always on their 'A' game... always greet you by your first name with a great smile and always engaging... supurb service

Food -- best meals we've had on vacation... they are 5 star on their food, breakfast breads were great and thanks Hamanasi for the special rice and beans=!... supurb food

Excursions -- great attention to detail and most importantly the guest safety was a priority... the diving was great and actually learned to saltwater fly fish w/ Noel. Wish I had more time to get some more activities in but ran out of time... next trip=!... supurb activities

Atmosphere -- with all the activities, great meals and the special happy hour every day made for a mix of busy and laid back, perfect blend for the family and I... supurb atmosphere

Well done, Hamanasi and thank you for making our vacation top rank... just wish I would have listened better in the beginning about the bug spray and the sand gnats... lol.

My wife and spent our 15th wedding anniversary at Hamanasi in April. The experience was so much more than we expected. I travel the world on business and this place is second to none with regard to service. The staff learns your name and makes an effort to personalize your experience. In particular our food experience was incredible. We had some dietary restrictions (peanuts, gluten) and the staff more than accomodated our requests. They made on the fly modifications to standard menu items and also presented many gluten free options as part of the regular offerings. Each night, we had wonderful cassava bread as a starter and finished with a customized gluten free desert. Rather than act like we were putting them out, the staff seemed to enjoy making sure we were well feed and enjoying ourselves. So as a short summary, the food and staff rock.

We stayed in a tree house and it was awesome. The AC kept us cool and comfortable in the jungle heat and humidity. It felt quite secluded although we were only a few yards from the main building. We would definitely select a tree house on a return visit.

The day trips offered were also phenomenal. We snorkelled twice and enjoyed the warm Carribean waters with our wonderful Hamanasi guides. The Mayan ruins are a must as they offer insight into the rich history of Belize. We also zip lined as an extra and that was a must-do attraction. The nearly half mile line is worth the price of admission.

My final comment is on the country of Belize. This is a country that largely relies on tourism to support its economy. If you visit Hamanasi, be sure to contribute the the Hopkins economy by shopping at the local stores. We came away with a very high opinion of the country and its people. We will be sure to return in the near future with our 2 children and perhaps extended family. My only reluctance pumping Hamansi too much is that it becomes too crowded for us to secure future reservations ;-)

Hamanasi is beautiful, lush with tropical plants with both a beach and jungle feeling. What makes it truly special though, is the staff and their attitude of total service. They make an effort to remember their guests' names and do it remarkably well so they make you feel welcome all the time. I cannot recommend Hamanasi highly enough. This is a place to totally relax or enjoy the active adventures offered, your choice and you won't be sorry no matter what you do.

Room Tip: Choose between beach-side rooms that are close to the center of activity or tree house rooms nestled...
