My husband and I enjoyed every thing about our trip to and our stay at Hamanasi! There was so much to do! We rode the provided bikes into Hopkins and enjoyed touring the small town. We kayaked the river and the sea! We visited the Mayan ruins with a very knowledgable guide who was very passionate about the history there. We went on a cave tour too! The main reason for choosing Belize and Hamanasi though was the diving! So beautiful! The dive master guides were very safety aware and went out of their way to assure we had a safe dive and got to see the marine life. We got to see sea turtles, lobster, rays, nurse shark and even a tiny sea horse. There was always plenty of staff to help with our gear and to help us in and out of the water. I totaly trusted all the dive staff with my safety. All of the staff, dive masters and boat crew, grounds keepers(the grounds are very well kept and maintained), house keepers ( our room was very beautifully prepared for us with a personaized welcome), drivers and guides, front desk staff, food service staff, all were so very gracious. They made us feel welcomed and cared for. I must not forget the food! It was fresh and delicious! Beautifly presented! The atmosphere was very relaxing. The whole experience was really "WOW"

Room Tip: from our second floor, corner room we had a view of the sea from one side and the mountains and jungle from the other!

Wife and 2 daughters (college age) had a great time at Hamanasi...

Service -- the staff are always on their 'A' game... always greet you by your first name with a great smile and always engaging... supurb service

Food -- best meals we've had on vacation... they are 5 star on their food, breakfast breads were great and thanks Hamanasi for the special rice and beans=!... supurb food

Excursions -- great attention to detail and most importantly the guest safety was a priority... the diving was great and actually learned to saltwater fly fish w/ Noel. Wish I had more time to get some more activities in but ran out of time... next trip=!... supurb activities

Atmosphere -- with all the activities, great meals and the special happy hour every day made for a mix of busy and laid back, perfect blend for the family and I... supurb atmosphere

Well done, Hamanasi and thank you for making our vacation top rank... just wish I would have listened better in the beginning about the bug spray and the sand gnats... lol.

My wife and spent our 15th wedding anniversary at Hamanasi in April. The experience was so much more than we expected. I travel the world on business and this place is second to none with regard to service. The staff learns your name and makes an effort to personalize your experience. In particular our food experience was incredible. We had some dietary restrictions (peanuts, gluten) and the staff more than accomodated our requests. They made on the fly modifications to standard menu items and also presented many gluten free options as part of the regular offerings. Each night, we had wonderful cassava bread as a starter and finished with a customized gluten free desert. Rather than act like we were putting them out, the staff seemed to enjoy making sure we were well feed and enjoying ourselves. So as a short summary, the food and staff rock.

We stayed in a tree house and it was awesome. The AC kept us cool and comfortable in the jungle heat and humidity. It felt quite secluded although we were only a few yards from the main building. We would definitely select a tree house on a return visit.

The day trips offered were also phenomenal. We snorkelled twice and enjoyed the warm Carribean waters with our wonderful Hamanasi guides. The Mayan ruins are a must as they offer insight into the rich history of Belize. We also zip lined as an extra and that was a must-do attraction. The nearly half mile line is worth the price of admission.

My final comment is on the country of Belize. This is a country that largely relies on tourism to support its economy. If you visit Hamanasi, be sure to contribute the the Hopkins economy by shopping at the local stores. We came away with a very high opinion of the country and its people. We will be sure to return in the near future with our 2 children and perhaps extended family. My only reluctance pumping Hamansi too much is that it becomes too crowded for us to secure future reservations ;-)

Hamanasi is beautiful, lush with tropical plants with both a beach and jungle feeling. What makes it truly special though, is the staff and their attitude of total service. They make an effort to remember their guests' names and do it remarkably well so they make you feel welcome all the time. I cannot recommend Hamanasi highly enough. This is a place to totally relax or enjoy the active adventures offered, your choice and you won't be sorry no matter what you do.

Room Tip: Choose between beach-side rooms that are close to the center of activity or tree house rooms nestled in the trees. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Everything was perfect. The food was good, the tours excellent, even the snorkeling was good despite the rain!

They seem to place a high value on environmentalism, which is great, and even help out with a vet clinic in the area. One thing I would like to make sure, before staying here again, is that they pay their staff well. This place is expensive! I really hope the staff (who live in a 3rd-world village 1 mile south of the resort) are getting paid regular wages on top of just tips.

The people who work at Hamanasi are what makes it such a great place. It would be awesome to see the resorts in the Hopkins area come together to create a "Community Building" foundation, to help make sure the people, their children, and their culture and traditions, are protected and strengthened.

Room Tip: tree house was AMAZING.
