“Lovely ladies, good food”
Reviewed July 29, 2013

The coconut rice and beans were some of the best we have had here in Belize and the chicken was also quite good. For dessert we had lovely coconut and sugar cookie. The ladies were very fun to talk to. Warning: Do not try to drive to the restaurant. Park on the road and walk those last 10 yards. We got our 4-wheel drive stuck in the sand by the restaurant, which allowed us to meet a very nice young man who helped dig us out and then joined us for lunch.

“Garifuna Cuisine is Great!”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

I enjoy the food here a lot. The restaurant is a co-operative that is shared by half a dozen women - all Garifuna ladies. They have a great location right on the beach at Sandy Beach. You can enjoy your lunch sitting on their veranda looking at the sea. Great breeze out there on a hot day also! Their prices are very good - their fried chicken is $8 and comes with rice, beans and usually a small salad. They make a great bowl of Huddut (which is a prepared with fresh fish, fresh coconut, and plantain. It is served in a brine, similar to a chowder. I LOVE IT! The ladies also cater to wedding, meetings, etc. They are licenced as well.
