North end overlooking the beach traditional Garifuna food (beware they tend to overcook fish) is served on a thatch roofed patio. It's has a simple furnishings and decorum (with good pricing) and when I was there on a weekend partaked in lively conservation with locals as well as tourists. It's a place in Hopkins that is still off the beaten path which makes it unique experience.

We ate here twice during our week in Hopkins, one for dinner and once for lunch. Both meals were very enjoyable. Local fish and chicken with rice and beans in a wonderfully rustic setting right on the beach in the north end of Hopkins.

Great location and easy to find. Our food was tasty and the portions were good. It took awhile to get our food, but it was worth the wait. We had the fresh fish, and it was really good. Prices were reasonable also.

A rustic spot on the beach serving up some amazing food at great prices. My husband and son had the barracuda which was served as a steak and fried to perfection. I had the whole grilled fish and cleaned every morsel off the fish. Emma opted for the fish taco which was prepared with a fruity salsa that added a pleasant note to the standard fish taco we're used to back home.

Our group of 9’s fall back after our intended eating destination was closed for no reason (something we’re finding takes a bit of planning and getting used to coming from the land of posted hours and prices). Located on the same stretch of beach as Driftwood Beach Bar and Pizza, this restaurant has both a small inside eating area as well as a larger, sand floored, covered outdoor section with small tables and picnic tables for seating. After some knocking to let the staff know we were there, they pointed out the menu informed us that they were out of shrimp. Although there was no vegetarian dish on the chalkboard, the staff were happy to prepare one for those who desired. Our group ordered three. I went for the fish and chips. As we were already sitting down to eat later than we had planned due to the other restaurant not being open, the usual wait for Hopkins’ cooking seemed longer than usual. That being said, I can’t remember just how fast I was able to cook the last time I had 9 friends drop in to eat full dinners at dusk. The food was excellent with generous portions and flavour. The Veggie’s were happy with their dishes and I was pleased that my fish was fried and not ‘deep’ fried. It seemed happy too with an apparent smile on its face as we looked each other right in the eye. Fish here are served whole. A more ‘local’ establishment in both atmosphere and food than Thongs or Driftwood. Excellent value.
