We stayed in the 2 bedroom beachfront villa. We had a spacious living room & kitchen as well. The a/c in the bedroom worked great, had great wifi, cable tv, amazing rooftop deck, beach chairs right off the front deck! What more can you ask for! The owner Damien was such a help, he helped us rent a car with the local agency so we could do a few daytrips on our own. The 2br villa would work great for a family or 2 couples as well. We can't wait to return!

I enjoyed experiencing the oceanfront view each morning with my coffee. This was an excellent place for relaxation and adventure as well. Beautiful views. Being right in the middle of the culture of the village was a beautiful experience in itself. This is not a highly built up tourist area, so the natural beauty and village life is preserved. Damian and Nisha were exceptionally friendly & welcoming. I had a great experience, would recommend. Something for everyone, unless you want concrete jungles & chlorine pools.

I don’t usually write reviews, but have been planning to write one for Coconut Row for months and just kept forgetting to.

I was traveling solo last December when I decided to return to Hopkins for the second time on my trip (I had to go back – you’ll understand once you’ve been to Hopkins. It is a special place, with incredibly friendly and genuine people).

When I first got to Coconut Row, I met Damian and asked if they had any rooms available. They did, but the rate was more than I had planned in my budget – so I headed off down the main road planning to stay at Yugadah (try Rosie’s food at Yugadah Inn – great grub, fun lady). It was hot out, and I only made it about half way there when turned around deciding I REALLY wanted air conditioning. Boy am I glad I did! The room I stayed in was large, super clean, and beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and cold air.

The beach right in front of Coconut Row is one of the best maintained in town – no litter whatsoever, raked every morning (and throughout the day as well) with comfortable hammocks, beach chairs and beautifully maintained grounds thanks to the hard work of the groundskeeper Benedict, who obviously takes great pride in his work. There is a nice patio area in front of the main building in which my room was located, with tables and chairs where you can sit and chat, or just relax and enjoy your morning coffee, a cold beer or a bite to eat.

What makes this place the best though is the people. The proprietors, Damian and Nisha, and their adorable little girl are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, and you will leave feeling like you’ve made some new friends. They are available to help you with any plans you want to make for excursions, to give advice on what to do and where to go locally, or just to sit and chat with you on a lazy afternoon. Damian even gave me a ride to the Dangriga airport when it was sadly time for me to leave, and we’ve kept in touch occasionally via email. Can’t wait to go back and visit again this next December!

We stayed in the Sunrise suite for 3 nights and were thrilled about the whole experience. Right in the middle of the Hopkins strip we were close to places to eat, buy trinkets from locals and to see the village. The owner and staff were very friendly and gave us great tips for where to eat and adventure. The grounds were kept clean and comfortable. An overall excellent place for a relaxing vacation or a great hub for someone who is there to see the southern part of the country. They were a great value but they also gave us a discount for filling space between bookings which was unexpected and very appreciated. I'm sure we will be staying there again. Hopefully this great treasure isn't all booked up during our next visit.

We loved the Coconut Row Guest House and the friendly, helpful proprietors: Damien and Nisha. We stayed in the two bedroom Sunrise Suite which was right on the beach with lovely ocean breezes to cool us off . It was a charming, comfy casita bright with sherbet colours and very clean. The kitchen and sitting room had ceiling fans and the two bedrooms had efficient and quiet A/C. The roof-top deck was great for ocean breezes and star gazing. The beach had soft sand, gentle waves and would be safe for small children. Nearby there were restaurants, a few rustic grocery stores, a fruit stand and Caitlyn's bakery. Hopkins itself is a very small and very rustic village but we felt perfectly safe. It is a bit off the beaten path (the rough road from the highway) but well worth a visit.

My friend and I stayed at Coconut Row for 2 weeks at the end of
May, right before the rainy season. Damien and Nisha were wonderful hosts. Their grounds keeper, Benny, was very friendly and helpful. Their housekeeper, Claudette, always made sure our guest house was clean and we were not lacking for anything.
Coconut Row itself is beautiful, with colorful houses and a grand view of the Carribean. Our front "lawn" was the beach. The interior was nicely decorated and each bedroom (2) had ACs. The house had a small kitchen /living area and a very nice bath. Also a deck and a roof-top area that was tiled. It had an amazing view of the ocean.
Damien helped arrange many of the excursions we took. We rented a car in Belize City when we landed so it was very convenient to go where we wanted when we wanted. Many of the excursions were nearby, such as cave tubing, zip line, waterfall rapelling, and night time jungle hike. All the tour guides were great. Other cities such as Dangriga, Placencia, Punta Gorda and San Ignacio are between a 1 -2 hr.(or so) drive. This is where renting a car comes in handy. It may seem like a lot of driving but the scenery and small towns you go through are worth it.
The best thing about Coconut Row was we were in the small town of Hopkins where we got to meet and love the Belizean people. Their way of living is certainly not we are accustomed to in the US but it is their way and they are all very happy and friendly.
I would certainly recommend Coconut Row to anyone who is thinking about traveling to Belize.

Our intention in heading to Belize was to get out and do every activity that we could squeeze in, while avoiding standing in a single line, anytime, anywhere....and with the exception of the airport, mission accomplished.

Damian from Coconut Row arranged our in-country flights from Belize City to 'griga and back, and our rides from 'griga to Hopkins and back. Actually, he helped arrange our car rental in Hopkins as well (yes, new rental shop is now operations. It's not a Hertz, by the way), and was very personable and available to us when we needed some advice. Super nice guy and a welcoming family that live on-site.

Coconut Row is an excellent home base for exploring Belize. Resort diving is down the road a couple miles (we dove with Hamanasi), Bocawina National Park is about 6 miles away (hike the Antelope Falls and hit the 10-platform zip line), cave tubing was about an hour away at Blue Hole National Park, Myan ruins were a couple hours away on a drive that rolls thru incredible scenery and thry the capital of Belmopan and then San Ignacio...and, our room was a stones throw from the ocean.

The room itself had 2 beds, little fridge, toaster, coffee pot/coffee, hot water, air conditioning, ceiling fan, we had a ocean facing porch with a table and chairs. We had new friends over several times for drinks on our porch..really easy to hang out looking out to the ocean, past a couple hammocks and beach chairs. We got some pretty serious rain a couple times at night but no problem to have a few drinks outside with friends under the roof.

Super satisfied with our experience with Coconut Row and our new friend Damian.
