This is an exceptional place - right on a clean, beautiful beach in the fascinating, off-the-beaten-path Hopkins Village. The cabins are nicely appointed and neat as a pin and the grounds are clean and beautiful planted. At your requested time each morning a delicious breakfast of fresh baked goods, fruit, and fresh juice is delivered to your deck and the owners are friendly and helpful. HIGH RECOMMENDED

We enjoyed a typical Belizean meal at Iris's which is on the south end of the village and the Garifuna drumming at the Lebeha Drumming Center on the north edge of the village is phenomenal - don't miss it!

Looking for someplace to kick back and relax? Hopkins Village could be right for you. In the village there is no better bang for your buck then Hopkins Inn. The Inn is made up of 4 cabanas, two smaller ones and two larger, while the owners live in the fifth cabana. The rooms are well appointed, clean and secure. Rita serves a healthy breakfast in your cabana every morning, a great way to start the day. There ain't a whole lot of shaking going on in the Village so you can sun bathe, swim in the sea, read that book you brought with you, bicycle around town, have a sundowner on the porch...or ask Greg to help you plan a snorkelling or adventure trip. Meet some locals and some fellow travellers and let the days melt by.

The owners, Greg and Rita, are wonderful hosts! Very clean modern cabana's right on the beach. Each cabana has a private bath, hot shower, refridgerater, and coffee maker. Every morning Rita delivers a delicious and copious breakfast including homemade breads, local fruits and fresh juices. Very good value. We try to visit once a year and find Hopkins Inn to be a quiet, clean, restful lodging close to all kinds of activities: hiking in jungle, climbing, swimming, kayaking, diving/snorkeling. We highly recommend it!

Stayed for three nights in a spotless very comfortable cabana. The warm Caribbean Sea was 20 metres from our door, and I went for a swim every morning and evening. Or just sit and read a book under the numerous palm trees. A very yummy breakfast consisting of tropical fruits, juices, coffee and local breads was delivered to our door each morning. A great little Indian restaurant is next door and we ate there on each night. Other small cafés and restaurants are a few minutes stroll away.
It’s a great base to explore and if you like wildlife or hiking then the Cockscome Basin Reserve is a 30 minute drive away as is Mayflower-Bocawina National Park. Both have lots of birdlife and numerous trails to wander on and some very nice waterfalls set amongst tropical rainforest.
I also went on day-long sailing cruise aboard the catamaran Toucan Flyer”. We stopped at three snorkelling locations through the barrier reef and docked at small caye for a BBQ lunch stop. An almost endless supply of yummy finger food items appeared regularly from the on-board kitchen, along with a variety of drinks. I’ve been snorkelling to many places, this was would have to rate as the best sailing trip I’ve ever been on.
Hopkins is a small village, but all the basics are there. But it’s a place to chill, no TV, so take a book with you, or go to one of the local bars and chat to the friendly locals.

Hopkins Inn is a very well kept collection of 4 private cabanas located right on the beach. The views are just what you want them to be and the cabanas themselves are comfortable, with a nice porch for palm tree & ocean gazing and a fridge & coffee maker inside.

Rita's visits in the morning are a real treat, delivering a breakfast boasting a variety of breads, fruits, spreads, and juice. A convenient store across the road allows you to buy whatever beer and snacks you would like to keep in your room.

The town of Hopkins is only accessible via unpaved road, as is most of Belize, so this makes it a perfect place to quietly unwind for a few days. Still, it is very close to a number of Belize's top attractions, including Cockscomb Basin, so there is adventure to be had if you want it.

The Indian restaurant next door is excellent as is Maggie's, a small "shack" nearby with the best burritos I've ever had.

You won't regret staying with Rita & Greg.
