Stayed at the lone pine for four nights on way back from NZ. Chose it because we wanted to just relax and that's exactly what we were able to do at this hotel.
We were in a first floor room in the older part with views of the sea and soothing sound of the waves breaking on the shore. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and very quiet air con. These rooms have an enclosed shuttered balcony in which we enjoyed sitting for our lunch.
The staff were excellent, polite, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed conversations with them, learning about their life in Penang.
We went into Georgetown on the free shuttle minibus, you have to book, and wished afterwards that we'd booked there taxi guided tour.
Our pick up for the airport was not until 17.30 and on request at the start of our stay we were given a complimentary extension to vacate our room at 17.00. Our only regret was that we should have booked for a little longer. Our thanks to all the staff for making our stay so relaxing.
