“Good holiday spot!!”

Breakfast was good... staff friendly !! rooms were nice. Stayed at the Tower - is across the road and connected by an overhead walkway. We were in the Tower and found it easier to go down to the beach and avoid traffic.

We stayed in the beach room & had a room facing the hill. The cost to upgrade to sea facing for 6 nights was about £100 however in the beach wing none of the rooms had balconies so the upgrade seemed a little pointless. The room was nice with king bed which was very comfortable. Fortunately we had earplugs & we needed them because of the noisy road. The pool area is nice with plenty of shade around the grassed areas from trees. Although as others have said the water sports mean you can't spend time relaxing on the beach due to the take off & landing area for the paragliding. It certainly didn't seem a safe way of trying the sport as landing was very hit & miss! We chose to eat out for breakfast and were glad we did as there were often queues. The staff in the hotel are very friendly & a cocktail eve is held every other Wednesday by the management team to thank guests and give them the opportunity for giving feedback and to meet the team. A great idea. The drinks are a little expensive at the hotel but I suppose that's expected.

Given the £50 a night price tag, the service delivered were about right. Located in the middle of town this hotel is in two parts. The smaller low rise building is next to the beach, the other - the Tower - is across the road and connected by an overhead walkway. We were in the Tower and found it easier to go down to the Ground floor and cross the road, rather than using the walkway which involved a lot of steps. The room was large and apart from a big stain in the corner on the carpet, kept very clean. There was a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and a wide range of toiletries. The shower was hot and strong - clean towels every day. Ice was delivered to the room at no charge. Free bottled water every day and free juice at Reception

The ipad and smart phone had no problem with the Internet but had to involve technical services to get the laptop logged on. Then it worked perfectly. The breakfast can best be described a a bun fight. Often had to wait for a table to be allocated and then sheer volume of people meant another wait to get the food - particularly at the egg and toast stations. Whilst the array of food was enormous none of it was particularly geared for Western taste, especially as anything pork is a definite no no.

It was very difficult to get a sunbed around the pool - all gone very early. The hotel seemed geared up for children - there were many of them. They had a great time but it made the pool noisy and this was compounded by adults playing water volley ball. There was nowhere to have some quiet time.

The beach immediately in front of the hotel seemed like an option but there was nowhere to sit nor nor anyway of avoiding the threat of being hit by the non stop para gliders. Other hotels seem to have erected barrier nets in the ocean to keep back the jelly fish but none at our beach.

The location and room were more than acceptable, but be prepared to pay a little more if you want some space to yourself

Dear elsiek,

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your stay. It is unfortunate the cleanliness of the room prevented you from fully enjoying your time at the hotel. We were truly pleased to see your high scores for Sleep Quality, Service, and Value. We take all of the reviews we receive very seriously as they allow us to identify areas that may benefit from additional attention. We have shared your comments with the staff and we’re confident the necessary adjustments will be made, in order to achieve complete guest satisfaction.

Thank you again for your comments, we hope to have the pleasure of serving you again soon.

Sincerely,

The holiday inn is an awesome hotel with modern relaxing rooms. The rooms have all the comforts of home. We had a sea facing view, which meant our room had a balcony. I would recommend these rooms above all else.
The breakfast was fulfilling with a large variety. The pool area is nice as it is next to the beach, however the it is noisy in the day. Children are constantly screaming and running around, not so nice if you just want to relax. The beach is no different. The noise from the jet skis can become annoying at times. You also cannot enjoy the section of beach outside your hotel as we had been chased away by the private jet ski operators as they have the paragliding customers landing there. You can run but you cant hide as they are all over the beach. The sea water is horrible, I attempted the water and i was in constant fear of a jelly fish stinging me. The sea is riddled with jelly fish and you cannot see the rest of your body once you are submerged in the water. The night markets are interesting and a good way to pass your time. Always ask for a discount.... There is a constant noise from the people riding scooters on the street until about 3am in the morning. (I call them the scooter gangs). I would not recommend Batu Ferringhi or Penang as a holiday destination. I think lengkawi would be better however this is just a guess.

Room Tip: sea facing room. The higher the better.

This was our second time to penang and also staying at this hotel simply because I love the beautiful seaview from the ferringhi tower!! I believe this hotel is the only one (or among the rare ones) in batu ferringhi which has a high rise building. We had our in-room breakfast at the balcony while enjoying the sea view and watching others parasailing against the clear blue sky! At night, you get to enjoy the city view of batu ferringhi! How wonderful is that! Highly recommended for couples!

Room Tip: Stay at the ferringhi tower with the nice seaview! It is really beautiful and you will never regret

Everything about this hotel is excellent. My friend and I stayed for three nights and our room was huge. Superbly clean. The staff were friendly and efficient. Free parking for those with cars.
No complaints really about the hotel. Would definitely come again in the near future. Recommended!

We stayed here as a family of 4 and really enjoyed our time. Hotel staff were always friendly and polite. Kids loved the kids club and also being close to the beach and having a great pool was also a highlight. Pool is well staffed with a lifesaver was around all the time which was good to see. Food here also a highlight but location is also a bonus for food as right on the doorstep to the hawker food just down the road. Breakfast was great for variety and staff did an excellent job. Night market also right outside and we spent a few nights haggling for a bargain. We found all to be done in good spirits. The hotel also runs a shuttle to the bigger shopping centres each day which was handy. All in all a great place to stay and good value as well.

Room Tip: Ferringhi tower across the road and as high as you can get it for the views.
