First of all, the average cost posted on Tripadvisor to stay at this dump is not even close to what they actually charge. The rooms are around RM70-150 and so far the most expensive room we've stayed at during our stay in Southeast Asia for what you get. We chose this place because of the high reviews only to regret it as soon as we arrived. Our room was dark, dingy, and musty. We had no towels or toilet paper in the room so we had to ask for them. The "kitchen" and the "lounge area" is absolutely disgusting!--dirty floors, piles of unwashed dishes, trash and ants everywhere. The kitchen probably had about 3 mugs for all their guests to share so if you want tea and there are already 3 people in the lounge, you're gonna have to wait your turn for that mug. When we first asked for them during breakfast, we were pointed towards a pile of dirty dishes in the sink.

There is nothing good about this place so stay away and save your money!

Also, if you read one of the "excellent" reviews about this place which greatly talks about the owner Azlan, PLEASE NOTICE WHO THE REVIEWER WAS--AZLAN HIMSELF!!! What a jerk!

I first checked in at another place that was pretty lame and then met a group of travelers and staff from LazyBoys at the beach having a bonfire and loads of fun. I switched hostel next day and stayed at LazyBoys for four nights. What makes the place special is first of all the amazing staff - very helpful and caring, funny and always up for organizing day trips, beach bonfires or a bar night. Besides, the common area is cozy, inviting and small which means it's so easy to connect with the other guests and find great people to hang out with if you are traveling alone. I love this place and felt welcome and at home. Thanks for making my stay an awesome fun time!! If I go back to Penang I will stay with the LazyBoys again :-)

Despite having an entrance that backs onto an alley, this is a it of a gem. The best part of it is the guys who run it, they are very interesting characters and incredibly helpful. Everything you need is there, kitchen, internet, clothes washing facilities, TVs and DVDs in rooms. It is clean and cosy.

Nice place, tidy and colorfull.
Free laundrymachine to use and a kitchen with everything in it. Nice after backpacking for a while to cook your own stuff.
they have there own studio with instruments if you like to jam some :)

The guy from lazyboys also took us out for night fishing & bbq on the beach.

It´s really like being there with only friends..
