“Wonderful Service”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

I can recommend East Wind watersports, they are very helpful and obliging, and even though they are a bit dearer than the beach touts, they are very professional and well worth paying a bit more for.

“Great fun! Friendly, helpful and good value”
Reviewed May 18, 2012

There are a number of operators along the beach, most of them only slightly cheaper than East Wind, who will push their cards into your hands and try to convince you to use them instead. Our hotel recommended that we only go with East Wind, and I tend to agree. Personally, I felt much more comfortable with East Wind than any of the other operators - they were friendlier, insured, included lifejackets in the rental price and did a great job explaining how to use the jetski safely. When you're out on the water, outside of your home country, with a hugely powerfood torpedo at your disposal, I think it's worth the extra couple of ringits to have that peace of mind. I also have a feeling that they let me stay out there for a bit longer than the time minutes that I paid for anyway.

The jet ski itself was great fun - immensely fast and surprisingly exhausting for a first-timer such as myself. I recommend renting one when there are very few people on the water - I got mine at 4:30pm on a Friday and was one of only 2 people on the water across the length of the beach.

I'm not sure what the fellow in the below review is getting at about the jetskis being dangerous to swimmers. You can't safely swim outside of the stinger nets anyway - if you're going to be 100 meters offshore in a sea of jellyfish, your #1 worry shouldn't be jetskis. From the shore they're not actually noisy enough to be a bother anyway. When in a touristy place, enjoy touristy things!

“Surf ski trip - Love the water, the beach and the monkeys!”
Reviewed April 1, 2012

This was our second year visiting Penang and the second time we used East Wind Watersports. We booked the Monkey Beach jet ski trip which goes for 2 hours and departs from the Hard Rock Hotel. You can either rent a jet ski each or two people can go on one jet ski. As it was low season, we were the only two on the tour. Our experience is that East Wind offer a professional and safe service. Our guide Nina was excellent, we are not experienced jet skiers but she made us feel very comfortable. The trip will take you to Monkey Beach, it is by no means a secluded beach but was not busy either, there were several other tourists there and fishing boats but it was still very quiet. Our guide took along a cooler full of drinks and snacks for us. On the way to Monkey Beach you will pass the floating fishing village. We spent about an hour at the beach, the monkeys came out of the forest and let us hand feed them (they were very polite little guys, we didn't get too close to them but they were nowhere near as grabby or unpredictable as the ones you see in Bali). The water was lovely and great for swimming. Then we rode back to the hotel and had a bit of time left over to ride the jet skis on the Batu beach. We definitely recommend East Wind Watersports - this was a great experience and one of our holiday highlights.

“No wind sailing”
Reviewed March 15, 2012

We tried sailing the catamaran, but got out there and the wind dropped. As advised, we only had to wave a life jacket and we were towed back in. We then had a banana boat ride which was good fun for Dad 'n daughter. Well run centre,
