“A must do - fabulous!”
Review of Long Beach

Description: Long Beach is a collection of street stalls surrounding the sitting area. It is located outside and offers many cuisines including Malaysian. In the area there are not so many restaurants offering Malay food so I thought it appropiate to add this 'restaurant' to the listings, although most would probably not class it as a conventional one!

“A must do - fabulous!”
Reviewed September 26, 2010

We fell in love with this place and ate here every night - there is so much to choose from and the whole process is a well oiled machine - you are never waiting for food or for drink and its just great fun! You see locals sitting beside tourists- everyone eating the same food and enjoying themselves. Our particular favourites were the spring rolls and the banana and chocolate pancakes - yum!!

“Great food court - do not be put off by appearances”
Reviewed September 19, 2010

We were a bit worried about eating at this food court when we first arrived in Penang, but after trying it on our 1st night we were absolutely drawn to this fabulous food. the spring rolls (3rm each) are delicious and he sells out of them some nights, we also tried the satay skewers 12 skewers for 8rm, amazing, such a cheap place to eat and the food is fantastic...we also tried the prawns & the Teppinyaki noodles, we ended up there 3 nights out of our 5 night stay in Penang, The pancakes are also great, fluffy and freshly cooked. All the food is cooked to order. The drinks are so cheap too. Don;t miss this place it comes alive after 8pm

“Really liked it!!”
Reviewed September 11, 2010

Do not be put off by appearances, this is THE place to eat, there is a wide selection of food. I loved it here! My favorite was the Indian in the far right hand corner, we had two starters, two main courses with rice and a large Nan bread and it cost 4.80gbp!!!!

“Cheap and good!”
Reviewed August 1, 2010

Long Beach is good, cheap and a great source of entertainment. It is kind of like an open air food court where you order what you want from each individual vendor and by the time you can take your first sip of Tiger Beer your satay/rice/pizza/pancake/spring roll/kebab/curry is in front of you. We ate there most nights and barely cracked $10 AUD for the two of us.

“Great food where the locals eat and tourists follow”
Reviewed July 28, 2010

We ate at the Long Beach Cafe on a number of occasions whilst staying

nearby. At first glance it looks like somewhere I would have avoided

on past holidays but it was recommended by our holiday rep as a great

place to eat. And he wasn't wrong either. Used by locals and tourists

alike it has a wide variety of excellent food at very cheap prices and a

great atmosphere. We initially opted for the sizzling chicken and veg

dish, still cooking as it came to our table in double quick time. The

home made spring rolls at the Long Beach are fantastic. Addictive in fact.

Over the course of the week we tried food from a number of other

hawker stalls. Each of them serving well cooked tasty food that is

hard to beat anywhere else in the resort. Once you make your first

visit to the Long Beach Cafe you'll be glad you got 'down and dirty'

with the natives.
