“OK for a visit”
Reviewed December 21, 2013

Not something for the top of your list of places to visit. A bit mundane, and few fruits were in season. But very interesting reading about exotic fruits, and there was an opportunity to taste them too.

“glad I picked the fruit farm, I mango back”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

The Fruit Farm is an amusing attraction for the content, and the unintentional cultural experience. The tour itself is very interesting. Our guide did a good job explaining the health benefits of the various fruit growing at the farm, much more than the obvious facts. His English was pretty good, like many people in Penang, so I didn't feel like I was straining to understand him the whole time. Best part for me was watching the employees strategically group the tourists, and then transport them up the hill to the farm. They tried so hard to keep white people together, and middle easterners together, and Chinese together. Probably for language purposes, but still it was amusing. I balked a little bit at the price, RM45 per person, but the fruit buffet makes up for it. Beautiful views, overall a really fun outing. Can get really hot, obviously, so be prepared with water.

“interesting and enlightened - grandchildren loved it”
Reviewed November 6, 2013

Took our son, daughter in law and 3 grand daughters for a visit. The staff are great, nice and friendly. Our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable. The fresh fruit buffet at the end with fresh and juice was delightful. Recommend this place to everyone - we hired local taxi van and avoided the "attractions" we didn't want to see to get there which was nice and relaxing.

“Bit tricky to get to, but well worth it.”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

The tropical fruit farm is located on a part of the Penang Island that is a bit hard to get to. We hired a car and drove around to the farm and to the cable car in the afternoon which worked really well.

The fruit farm offered a short tour where they showed you plants and explained a bit about the life cycles and climate required for growing different fruit.

But the highlight was tasting all this delicious fresh fruit and a juice made with your choice of fruit. Made me realise how poor the quality of supermarket fruit can be and how I really should eat more fruit!
