Had a VERY enjoyable tour here. Really nice, really interesting. Ready to 'thank' (tip) the tour guide before departure, but his non-verbals became very unfriendly (mildly hostile) when we said we did not want to purchase his health-enhancing products, which somewhat spoilt the overall experience.

Hi, all. Went there on 31 Aug. Was a long drive and it was quite scenic. I expected a lot from what ever i read. When we reached there, i was charged 35rm per adult and so i expected even more. They took us by a van to the top and we were taken around by a guide. To our shock, they showed us some Banana plants and some coconut tree. We have better ones in our backyard. Ofcourse we did see some 10 types of fruit trees in all. The dragon fruit plant was amazing. I do agree that the 200 plus types of fruit they have is seasonal, but the pricing is still not reasonable. Then they took us for the fruit buffet. This was the only place where I felt a little justified for the price I paid. All in all we were shown around for less than 30 min. Anyways check it out for yourself...

Try not to get talked in to making this trip as it takes a whole day and will cost MR 100 per person including the bus very misleading as they don't have 240 fruit trees it is not a farm as they buy the fruits from the market so be warned

The drive to the farm is more that 10 km of winding road from the Hotel stretch of Batu Ferringhi and is up the hill. The price for entry (RM35 for adult and RM28 for children) is slightly pricey even though there is a buffet fruit spread at the end of the tour. During the tour, a guide will explain the different types of fruits, fruit trees and benefits of the fruits. There are around 10 different types of trees that the Guide introduced to us but as the time that I arrived is in midday, it was very hot and I noticed most people are just looking for shade during the talk. At the end of the tour, we will have a fruit buffet spread. The fruits spread are just the normal daily local fruits while some of more expensive fruits which are planted in the farm are not given in the spread. Each person is entitled to just a glass of freshly squeeze fruit juice of his own choice during the the buffet. Certain part of the tour may be informative but locals may know some of the information.

we visited the fruit farm despite the negative reviews.
Yes, it is a bit pricey for what you get.
But our guide was very informative and its nice for the kids to see so many different tropical fruits growing in one location and to learn about how they all grow. You are unlikely to see this in another place, as they have taken plant species from many different countries, they are not all native malaysian plants.
