“A little gem”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

This is such a little gem in the area which was recommended to us by locals.

Unpretentious and down to earth, it is part of a back-packers establishment, and has quite a Bohemian vibe.

Owners are present (including their toddlers in tow) and are so full of energy and life, and great to chat to.

We had great curries which were perfect for the winter cold.

The waitress was still finding her feet, but her willingness to please, and the fact that the lady owner was always nearby to assist made for good service.

Look forward to going again some time.

“Stunning food and people”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

My friend and I went to the mystic tin for its microbrewery. Had a beertasting and enjoyed the beautiful garden at the back. We came back in the evening for supper, had their pizza with butternut and feta and lamb curry, best ever! They make fresh real strawberry milkshakes! We had a nice chat with the owners and we ll be back soon!

“Cosy restaurant, tasty food - perfect winter warmer!”
Reviewed June 26, 2013 via mobile

We had a late lunch at the restaurant. Amazing pumpkin and ginger soup perfect for winter was the starter of our special. Springbok fillet followed perfectly done tender and juicy with a delicious creamy buttery sauce. Panacotta for desert. Great ambience. We were lucky to have the whole room to ourselves with the full attention of the polite staff. Fire going in the jetmaster. Simply lovely.

“Lovely restaurant with personality”
Reviewed June 10, 2013

The B&B we were staying in recommended this restaurant and we are very happy that they did.

It seems like a smallish restaurant, but we were told that there was a year end function somewhere in the back. We were the only two people in the front part of the restaurant and it was still nice and quiet and intimate.

The manager of the restaurant was very friendly and helpful with great service. We were discussing the area and he was very happy to answer all our questions and join in on the conversation without making us feel like he had to rush off to be somewhere.

The food was really good (so was the wine) and the price was also really good compared to other restaurants we've been to.

I can definitely recommend this restaurant if you are ever in the area.

“Congenial Restaurant”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

The Mystic Tin is a small, intimate restaurant (seating outside in summer) and the food was very good. We had no complaints and enjoyed the locally brewed beer - something to try if you are a beer drinker.

I believe that the ownership has just changed so it will remain to be seen how this affects the restaurant - hopefully, the food will remain good!
