“Couldn't of been any better!!!”
Reviewed April 20, 2013

Sunny Cove Manor was the perfect place for my self and my brother-in-law to vacation with my daughter who is living in South Africa for a year! It has an INCREDIBLE view, and Peter and Solveig could not of been any more delightful!!! I looked forward to coming down to breakfast every morning to their welcoming faces, delicious breakfasts, and fun conversations! They were also incrediblely helpful as we drove around the Cape Town area....even making phone calls for us to check things out. I was not disappointed to be "outside" of Cape Town...as we saw even more of the beautiful country!!! I didn't want to leave...and I would LOVE to go back! Thank you Peter and Solveig!!!

We found Peter and Solveig warm and charming hosts and just loved the breakfast they gave us. Nothing was too much effort for this interesting couple who've owned Sunny Cove for the last 11 years. The house has a fascinating history and the rooms are all well appointed with stunning views over False Bay. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone staying in Cape Town

Sunny Cove Manor is an imposing building overlooking Fish Hoek Bay with magnificent panoramic views of the sea. It is owned and run by Peter & Solveig who are very hospitable. The Hangklip suite was ideal for us with two bedrooms and en-suite facilities. The panorama window was so inviting that one could almost spend a whole day simply relaxing and watching the sea with the occasional whale and in some circumstances a Great White shark swimming by.

Off street secure parking is a great benefit. The breakfasts, served personally by Peter in his inimitable style with humour, are excellent and cooked to order.

Having lived in S Africa for a while and also having stayed in the same vicinity on recent holidays, one gets used to the noise from the trains and the traffic. The Manor, being set quite high up from the road and railway, meant this did not affect our enjoyment whatsoever.

Wifi is available too although not necessarily in your room. The Library is best for this.

We will definitely make a repeat visit and would recommend this place to anyone thinking of travelling to Cape Town and wanting a very reasonably priced out of town B & B.

Sunny Cove Manor was recommended to us by the husband of someone who stayed there quite a few years ago, whom we never met, so we were not quite sure what to expect. I wanted a guest house, holiday home, or vacation rental to save money on meals and since that's the business I'm in, so I was a little nervous going with my 16 year old daughter who I thought would prefer the action of a more downtown location. Fortunately, she was awed by the beauty of the location from the first morning so there was never any disappointment upon arrival. Pre-arrival, she was nervous that we'd found the only non-African owned guest house as she had been to South Africa before and did not want to just be a tourist. She was pleasantly surprised, as our hosts, Solveig and Peter, were quite involved with the freedom movement and liberation of Namibia next door.

Anyway, we stayed in a flat detached from the main house with a small ocean view, and the sound of waves crashing every night during the height of the "high season." The rate was about $900 USD for a week for two including home cooked breakfast each day. The place was clean, and comfortable with a little microwave for tea, and plenty of hot water. Each day we arose early and enjoyed every ounce of Cape Town we could explore, and were happy to return to our little slice of peace and quiet each evening, only to be greated by our hosts the next morning. We couldn't have asked for better or more affordable accommodations along beautiful False Bay. Solveig & Peter made our trip one of a lifetime with their local knowledge and ability to help us plan the itinerary that was just perfect when asked. I would definitely return, and plan on spending more time walking the local beaches. One hint: make dinner reservations in advance for high season if you won't be eating at your flat!

Sunny Cove is runed by the american couple Peter & Solveig . We stayed in the biggest room Hangklip. the room is very large with separate bed room. The room has a huge window in main room where you have agreat view of Fish Hoek. Very good standard for being a B&B. Peter & Solveig is lovely couple that is trying their upmost to make everything well with your stay. I have nevre felt so good and relaxed staying in a B&B. Sunny Cove was situated outside Fish Hoek but it only took 5-10 min to walk into town.

Sunny Cove Manor is a great looking building, but unfortunately the interior was disappointing. It is an extremely spacious property, our room had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and the beds were very comfortable. The rooms, particularly the windows, are in need of renovation and the bathrooms have seen better days. We did find the close proximity of the road and the railway a bit offputting due to the noise, especially in the morning, but we are used to a very quiet street at home. The room needed a good cleaning. However, Solveig was extremely friendly and very helpful and the breakfasts were adequate. Unfortunately we only saw one whale in the 3 days we were there but the weather had not been that kind. Ideally situated for Simonstown and Cape Point and only 5 mins walk from the Main Street in Fish Hoek.

Sunny Cove Manor is a great B&B run by a wonderful American couple, Peter and Soveig who couldn't do enough to ensure that we had a wonderful stay with them. The location is on the main coast road overlooking the ocean. It is really a little too far out of Fish Hoek to be ideal but we had the car and it didn't worry us. There is a railway station with regular trains across the road and the town is just about walking distance.

Our room, Cape Point, was basic but very large, and had a fridge. The en-suite bathroom had probably seen better days but it worked well and was fine for us.

We would certainly return here and will recommend it to our friends when they are visiting the area.
