Thank you to Ingrid for a great tour, tasting, and lunch. We appreciated splitting our kids off for their own tour. Though you can’t buy on site, we left Norway with Bivrost bottles. The Norwegian tapas lunch was a great sampling of local products. It’s a beautiful location and worth the drive.

Even tough it was a holiday in Norway our giude Sarah went on a tour around the destillery with us. We really like whisky and already visited lots of distilleries in Scotland. That's why we were curious how destillation is done in arctic Norway. Now we know some interesting new facts. We were really suprised of the tasting of the different types of alcohol that are manufactured at Aurora Destillery. Especially the Cloudberry Vodka and the Aquavit with dill tasted fantastic. We are not familiar with Gin, but this one was great too. We had a great time and the view from the visitor center to the lyngen fjord is amazing.

Aurora Spirit is the most Northern Distillery in the World. They are producing gin, whisky and akvavit. The architecture of the building is very interesting, the Bar is nice, the product are super tasty, and we had a wonderful guide. Next to the Distillery there is a former NATO base. Very exciting. Warm recommendation!

We had a great day at the Distillery, we visited on a wet day as we were not sure if it would be good. It was brilliiant.
We were met by Sara (she was also on the Aurora 101 tour) and she was so friendly and nice.
We went on the tour with a Norwegian woman (ingrid) and she was so passionate and very knowledgebal and we loved the information she gave. You get to taste the spirits at the end of the tour. The gin is AMAZING and the best we have tasted, and I will be buying some on the way home.
We then did the NATO tour. Sara was funny and again passionate about the history. It was fun and the map and secret rooms were great to explore. Sara shared lots of information and the attention to detail was great, she was very funny and we really enjoyed it. We would not go there alone though, you have been warned (we even saw the pictures of the ghosts afterwards with Tour Peter).
We didnt have lunch, but it looked good and the visitor sentre was warm, cozy and have the best views (even in the rain).

A great day out and well worth the visit.

We were the only 2 persons going from Tromsø to Lyngseidet this saturday in January. One of the owners picked us up in a new Lexus when arriving with the ferry at the other side of the fjord. After about 1 hrs drive, we had a guided tour in the destillery. At that day, only 2 english spoken persons there. I was a bit supriced. What would they have done if we could only understand Norwegian? Anyway - this was not a problem and the host and hostess were very nice. The guided tour very interesting and the food they gave us after the tour was ok. the spirits we tasted were all very nice. And the building - really impressive and the wiew must be stunning in nice weather. After the meal, we were picked up again and brought back to the ferry. It turned out the ferry had technical problems and could not go back. Luckily for us, the driver and owner also had family that had the Rorbuer / cabins in Lyngseidet, and we were placed in a Rorbu with one beer each and the telly on. We stayed there for maybe 2 hrs max, and then they drove us back to Tromsø by bus on the road. All this made this to an unforgettable trip . we enjoyed every minute! Very nice people every where.
