Our family went to the cottage to relax for a couple of days and we were not disappointed. The cottage is quite old and has been very sympathetically updated leaving many original features which make this place very charming and interesting. On arrival we had a look around the house and then went exploring the grounds with a short river walk, then relaxed in front of the open fire. The next day it was a small drive to some great walks then back to the cottage where we were greeted by a herd of cows which was lovely. More relaxing with dinner cooked in the well equipped kitchen and then to bed. The best quality mattress has been used on all beds and we all had the best nights sleep. If you are looking to get away to the Barrington or Gloucester Tops and want a private place to relax after a long days walking, this is the place for you.
We both loved the few days spent at the cottage. We particularly appreciated the wide verandah with comfortable outdoor dining; the modern bathroom and good quality kitchen appliances and utensils. The sense of history has been maintained with the high ceilings, old wooden floorboards and original windows. There are lovely local walks, including down to the river that adjoins the property. We also visited and walked in Gloucester Tops and shopped in the charming village of Gloucester. We plan to return for a longer stay.
