Very helpful & friendly staff! Basic and cheap rooms. Ablution block is under renovation. Shared kitchen small, crowded and very few pans and utensils (stolen?).

Best for Tongariro Crossing. Fantastic transport and support!

We enjoyed our stay and will go again.

Arrived in November with our small campervan. Desk was very helpful and we found a spot on the field snuggled in with all the other campers. The washrooms and showers were fine. Showers were newly renovated. The common room was uninspired. If I was spending a rainy day here I would have been disappointed. BUT this Holiday Park is located at the edge of the National park, so my guess is that people don't just "hang around".
Kitchen was good. There did not seem to be much in the way of pots or pans or cooking utensils. But we were self-contained so it did not really matter.
Skipped the internet because we thought it was a little pricey.

A bit disappointed by out stay... You have to bring absolutely everything as there isn't linen, and "someone had stolen the pots and pans" in the shared kitchen, which mean we were carrying over 20kg of luggage for only 2 nights... Toilets and bathroom are alright, not the cleanest (shared btw) but good pressure and hot water. DO NOT USE the hot tub,it is absolutely gross and the jets are not working.

Very disappointed by our stay!

Check in ok, we were informed that 500mb of internet cost $10. A bit expensive but we wanted to contact our families for Christmas and download some pictures from our trip around NZ. Well don't bother paying that much because you'll be very disappointed! Impossible to skype without the connection to be stopped. We only had time to say "Do you hear me? Merry Christmas! I have to go connection is bad! Love". And very complicated to download pictures on Facebook. If I resume, impossible to do what we wanted to do!

About the holiday park, not many pressure in the shower (not nice after walking all day), kitchen okay, laundry machines not working very well, many cockroaches (kitchen, entrance of cabins)...

We decided to book a duo cabin as we are a couple plus a friend. Room okay but the bed was really bad! (Cabin 2). We decided to book a nice room for Christmas Eve to have a nice sleep because we are traveling in a van and I slept better in the van so far and we don't have much room! My back was very painful when I woke up!

When I complained about Internet the next morning (Christmas Day), the guy who answered to the door bell told us to contact the internet company and that the mattresses in the rooms are new. Do you call that customer services? I don't!

Thanks THP for this stay, you ruined my Christmas!

We stayed here to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The buildings look like they could use a new coat of paint and in need of some TLC, but the rooms, kitchen and bathroom were pretty clean. Bathrooms and showers look like they have been recently renovated, along with the kitchen. There are a few pots and pans you can use for cooking which was nice, not many holiday parks provide this.

Great location if you are doing the Crossing. There is a shuttle that picks you up right from the holiday park. Our driver, Jarod, was pretty cool and well informed about the area.

The one big down side was the old man at the front desk, Derek. He was quite rude to us from the get go...not sure why though. He seemed to have an attitude and didn't make us feel very welcome. After reading the reviews below, seems like the owners are pretty friendly, but we never met Greg and Donna. Not sure I would recommend this place because of the cold reception we got.

For what it was, it was overpriced - I'm afraid for the money I expected more! There wasn't much information about the actual accommodation on their site with only 3 photos and meagre details. I booked a self contained 'cabin' which was basically a prefab on wheels. It was clean and tidy and modern enough, but we were tripping over each other. The end wall leaked and the interior paint came off on my sons sweatshirt. There was no complimentary tea/coffee - OK, that's fine, but it wasn't mentioned on the website so assumed incorrectly that it would be provided. For the price it should've been! The actual buildings look in need of repair with rot in the cladding etc. We were so disappointed we opted out a day early and went somewhere else. I see someone mentioned the cafe... Well, this had closed down otherwise this would've been a redeeming feature...

Stayed in a basic cabin accommodation on 18th January 2013. Cabin Spartan, temperature cold, toilet and washing facilities very disappointing. Evidence of maintenance being upgraded but wash rooms for men and laundry temporarily closed. The one redeeming feature was the café on site which cooked very delicious home made pizzas.
