Four ladies arrive at around 11 pm at Otorohanga, on the way to Wellington from Auckland. We really need a place to rest, thanks to internet we could search through it n found these motel name just near by Mac Donald that we were stop there.

We call them n a gentleman pick up the phone in a sleepy voice but very helpful .. then a minute later we already in a nice room, clean n warm ( a very good heater i believe ) fully equipped n of course with a bottle of New Zealand's milk.

A clean towel n warm bed....what a nice place you found in the middle of long way to go....

Room Tip: Corner suited are larger

As Sara R stated a particularly noisy motel being right on the main drag and the by-pass directly across the road.Hard to hide from it.The room I had wasn't the cleanest but the bed was comfortable.Very handy to the town centre is a plus.

This motel is right on the State Highway, where the trucks change down in gear as they enter the town. It was horrendously noisy all night, even with all the windows shut as tight as the broken latches allowed. Of course that made the room stinking hot and there is no air-con. It was far too expensive for a tired and not particularly clean room. Best you can say is its walking distance to the township. The owner told us it might not be safe to leave our motorbikes in the motel carpark, even outside the reception, so that wasn't encouraging. And then the room's door wouldn't shut properly. Overall, really a poor option and, if we hadn't been so tired, I would have left and demanded my money back.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else!

The Palm Court Motel is not to expensive and well worth the price. The room we got was spacious, clean and tidy with a very comfortable king size bed. There was a door out to the patio at the rear side of the hotel, where each room got some square meters, a table and some chairs. The hotel is close to a major road and the railroad so there is a bit of noise from that, but compared with staying i a major city, the noise is not really much to bother about.

This is hardly a place you go to for your honeymoon but else it is a good choice to have a comfortable room for a decent price.

I stay in this motel frequently. It is what it is - friendly owners, average but comfortable rooms (stay as far away from the main road as possible) stay upstairs to eliminate the noise of upstairs neighbors, andif there is a problem of any kind they are happy to take care of anything.
So all in all I recommend it!

Room Tip: Stay in an upstairs renovated room away from the main road.

Located on an intersection of two roads, one being the main highway through the town. So if you like noise...... The room was tired and not in the best of shape. Someone needs to spend some money on this place. Had that smell of a leaky building. Curtains were wafer thin and didn't close properly. Didn't feel comfortable here at all. Still, when you have to stay in Otorohanga!

Had a suite for $125 (more than Best Western in Auckland for a much superior room!!). Traffic noise all night from nearby main road plus floor shook upstairs when next door guests walked around their room. Add to this that the shower and toilet flushing in the next room woke us up at 6.00 am sounding like an express train.

Overall noisy and poor value for money.
