This has got to be one of most cleanest and immaculate places I stayed at. Friendly hosts as mentioned many times and a good choice of breakfast, lots of room extras you would not expect at this price and good beds and linen. Good couple of places to eat and drink just across the road... Perfect! You can't go wrong with this place for a night or two stay.

This homey place is in the heart of the village, walking distance to the caves. The owners, Janet and Colin, are delightful! They are friendly, and helpful, generous and understanding. (I had booked a room for my son and his girlfriend, who ended up bringing 2 friends who had come to visit them. We were afraid they would have to stay at a backpacker lodge or campground, but Colin was very kind about it, offering an air-mattress and minimal extra charge.)
The beds were comfy, the linens good quality.
They have a patio with a grapes hanging from the arbor - yum! We had a barbecue there one night, with 10 of us grilling food, using their plates, silverware, and even olive oil and spices! They wouldn't even let us clean up! Janet and Colin were generous beyond anything I have experienced in hoteliers.
The Maori were said to believe that this location had magical qualities, and everything we experienced in Waitomo confirmed that.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main house are for those who don't need to sleep in late - sound travels as bre...

Thanks for the review. It was great having your crowd around the BBQ with the other guests being made welcome to join your group.

Excellent location. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms and it was excellent. Nice big room, clean and extremely comfy. The hosts were very friendly and helped us book on a caving trip. Breakfast was good too. Wish all our accommodation was as good as this!

Janet and Colin were away but Heather was super helpful. I arrived late and they left a sign directing me to my room. It was small, but had everything you could need, including home made cookies that were delicious.

It is conveniently located to everything to see in the area.

The breakfast is a cold breakfast with toast, cereals, fruit and yogurt.

I would gladly recommend this B & B to anyone one.

This is a quirky B&B, run in a very friendly way by a husband and wife team of owners. All the rooms are built into their garden. One reason we booked it was the availability of free wifi. Unfortunately, it did not reach our room very well, but it was possible (with a MacBook Air) to get a signal through the bathroom window. This sounds as if it was the only item that mattered, which is not true, as we had a comfortable night in the small room, and then enjoyed a really excellent self-service breakfast. We would not hesitate to return to this B&B if we are in Waitomo Caves again, and suggest that there is no point in looking elsewhere, as this was really excellent value for money. Most of the other accommodation in the area is at Otorohanga, about 15 km away, so this B&B is the best place to be for visiting the caves area. The owners are a mine of local information, and very enthusiastic to impart their knowledge. Look no further!

Room Tip: Ask for a larger room, and ensure you will get the free wifi signal

We're glad you enjoyed your stay in Waitomo. Thank you for your kind comments. We are trying to get a signal booster for that particular room, but most people who stay there just sit at the table under the grape arbour, or on the deck at the front, where there is a better wifi signal.

Colin is a goof ball in a very good way. We really enjoyed our very brief stay here after the caves and a very long day of flying and driving. He even had wine for his guests which was no where to be found in the area. The only reason he didn't get 5-stars, is that his breakfast was terrible. NO FRESH FOODS except for some Kiwi's. Everything else was canned or processed. We did not partake in this breakfast as we don't eat any of those foods.

The place was clean, and he offered a lot of options on where to go next and I would absolutely stay there again (I would just bring my own food).

Room Tip: Don't bring US dollars. They will take it, but prefer not to.
