This place is too cute!! We stayed in The Hobbit room and it was very clean and comfortable. The owner was very kind and told us about some nearby points of interest. It was all topped off by an adorable lamb who followed us around as we walked the property to view the other units.

My daily view is of Wellington city so to wake up and see this amazing rural setting was wonderful...and to be in a Hobbit hole made it soooo much better. Big tick off the bucket list. It was cute and cozy and my husband and I loved our stay.

We are pleased you were able to enjoy your stay in the Hobbit Unit, it is certainly a different view, especially when compared to Wellington.

I’m not sure who had more fun in the plane cockpit?! Me or my 2 kids! So awesome and well worth the money for a once in a lifetime experience. Warm and cosy with the heat pump. Lots of animals to see (enjoyed the lambs) and 2 minutes to the glow worms. Good fun!

Our family of 5 (2 parents and 3 young adult) stayed in the train. It was fun at first, but overall a tight fit. Beds and rooms were warm and comfy for our June/July in NZ. Shelly was a very kind and gracious host upon check in. WIFI was HORRIBLE. We learned later or maybe I didn't check the fine print, that we could only access wifi while standing outside the office... not ideal for making further travel arrangements, check maps, make tour bookings and all things required for travel in the 21st century. I appreciate Billy's "luddite" sensibility and farm atmosphere, but a stable wifi connection for is imperative in today's holiday travel schema.

We turned up early for our Hobbit hole and interrupted the unit being cleaned; however, the lady could not have been more helpful, checking us in immediately and providing a host of recommendations for both local sights and restaurants, which were spot on. We came back from an exhilarating underground trek and found the room pre-warmed and in immaculate condition, comprehensive kitchenette and wet room style bathroom packed with towels, rustic fittings around the main room chiming perfectly with the style. Quiet, remote feeling but large TV with Sky in case you need distraction. Wonderful night's sleep and delighted with our experience; the 'gimmick' of the unit's appearance is less important than its quality, which is exemplary. We will certainly be back!
