My husband and I married in the Hunter Valley Gardens in December 2012. The entire family stayed here for two nights. The restaurant, spa and hairdresser were excellent. Everyone was so kind and very accommodating. The rooms were fantastic! I am definitely returning.

Room Tip: All the rooms were great - I am going to stay in a spa suite next as they are themed. Kyoto here I c...

My partner gave me two criteria to fulfil when I was searching for a few days away. The Chateau fulfilled these criteria and more. The rooms were large and spacious. We have stayed in a number of hotels around the world, and the Chateau is up with them. We had a great stay, great food, and views from the villa of the golf course and surrounds, out to the hills surrounding the valley. Watching the kangaroos roam around the place, and the wayward golfers, to enjoying the spa services, and the quality of the food, were all highlights of our stay. The staff were wonderful, from the front desk to the spa and the Golf club, nothing was a problem and everything was handled well.

The only issue/s for my lady and myself was there were a couple of days where the breakfast let them down. Issues with the supply of the various items on offer, and having them run out and people queuing to wait were not what you expect to see at an establishment with this stature, and the limited room service menu also let them down. When we pointed these things out to the staff, they took the information on board and stated that they would pass on our comments to their superiors. Even though the food is supplied by the Golf Club and not under their control.

All in all, it was a great week away, and I can't wait to return with my golf clubs, and my partner with a good book to read.

We stayed with four other couples and we were all a little disappointed. The rooms themselves were large and nicely furnished but poorly lit with very little wardrobe hanging space. The air conditioning temperature controls did not seem to work properly and the rooms were all stuffy and overheated. The bathrooms were not exactly dirty but they weren't really clean either. While the bathrooms were very large, it was a very empty space. The shower leaked and there was only one small and slightly cracked basin. One of our group found that their bed had such a sag in it that they couldn't sleep properly. The hotel's solution was to bring in a rollaway bed for one of them.
What really let this hotel down though was the staff. We had coffee one afternoon in Cafe Elan and it was painfully slow and we were served the worst coffee we have probably ever tried. We paid separately on the last day and all advised the desk that we would be leaving at around 11am. We then all had numerous people knock on the door as we were packing to see if we had gone - all well prior to 11am

I took my husband to the Chateau Élan as a surprise for our 25th anniversary.
From the time we arrived to the time we left we could not fault anything.
The staff were amazing, so friendly & helpful. Our king spa Suite was extremely comfortable & clean. The Legends Grill food was so good we ate all our meals there over our 3 day stay!
The Golf course passed with flying colours too, & The Tibetan Massage at The Spa is a must to have when you stay!
We had such a great time we returned 6 weeks later & stayed another 2 nights!
Compliments to Joseph & All the staff on making the Chateau Élan a wonderful place to visit.

Room Tip: For a Romantic Stay, definitely choose the King Spa Suite !

Amazing, friendly staff, very good service, food 10/10, spacious rooms with great views.
For a 5 star hotel, I really think the management needs to install fans in the bathrooms. Other than that we really enjoyed our stay.
I'd go again (once the fans in the bathrooms are installed and actually working)

Stayed in Chateau Elan for the Mothers day weekend and it was the perfect place stay. All staff were accomodating, friendly & helpful. We stayed in King Spa room, 1st floor and loved the open courtyard. Room was clean, bathroom is spacious, bed is comfortable. We ordered room service and food was excellent. Dined at Legends and food was even better. We also loved the outdoor spa in the swimming pool area. Over-all, i highly recommend and will definitely go back.

We stayed here over the weekend in a one bed spa villa and had a thoroughly great time. The rooms are really nice and relaxing and the open fire was great in the evenings. Great facilities including a very nice heated pool and jacuzzi and also a children's play area which our 18 mth old daughter loved. Also, there are loads of kangaroos that sit amongst the villa's which we loved!. Great location to all the wineries and the Hunter Valley Gardens only a short drive away. Can't wait to stay here again one day.
