“amazing location, but undergoing major changes”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2012

During our stay we saw monitor lizards, kangaroos and a multitude of bird life very close up. Its a beautiful area with heaps of things to do very close, not to mention kayaking, fishing and swimming right on your door step. The staff were very helpful.

However, they are undergoing significant management changes at the moment (we were there about 2 weeks ago) and rumor has it that its in receivership. the restaurant never seemed to be open, but you could occasionally get a drink, there was none of the promised deliveries of newspaper and milk daily and apparently they are selling off the villas. Bottom line - call before you go so you know what you are getting, and make sure you grab some groceries from the nearby town (15 mins away)

Thankyou for your review. I am glad you appreciated the natural beauty of the property. The range of wildlife and beautiful vistas from the villas are something to behold. With regards to your other comments, yes we are undergoing a change of onsite management. Our new team Garry and Tish have only been onsite a couple of weeks and are gearing up for the busy summer season. It has taken a little while to get supplies and staffing organised, but the cafe and bar are now completely operational, you can check the dining section of our website for menu and opening hours. As for the property being in receivership, this is definitely not true. Escape2 Holiday Parks and Resorts purchased the property around 2 years ago and over that time have been working towards our goal of reverting the property back to its roots, a quality holiday park in a beautiful natural environment. We have almost completed the removal of excess cabin accommodation, and are currently working on upgrades to the amenities and the creation of additional camping and caravan sites. We are also planning to build some safari tent style accommodation, to supplement the cabins that will remain. With regards to milk and papers, we actually never advertised daily milk, it was always milk on arrival. This is the same at all of our parks and resorts. There may have been some confusion there. Due to the isolated location, we are unable to receive daily paper deliveries like some of our other parks and resorts, however we can offer a free weekly local paper on request. I hope you will return again to see the great changes taking place, and bring your friends too.

After a 4 hour drive from Sydney this is the perfect spot in October for a quiet holiday in natural surroundings .No loud noise or the hustle and bustle of the city here. All you can here are the birds chirping.the goannas scurrying up trees and the wind blowing across tranquil waters.Miles of lakes for observing wildlife such as black swans and wood ducks from a kayak or a boat and even a small sandy beach for the sunbaking enthusiast. The crystal clear waters are idyllic for swimming and even the goannas can be seen gliding off the sandy banks into Myall Lake. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and cannot be faulted. There is even a restaurant there to accommodate hungry appetites.

2nd time we have stayed here. This time we had lakefront villa 61 which was right on the lake, couldnt get an closer really! Lovely peaceful location sitting on the deck under the paperbarks watching all the birds on the lake. Villas are beautifully refurbished and well laid out. We had two kids aged 9 and 11 , but wouldnt stay in lakefront villas with little ones as it is probably dangerously close to the lake, there are similar villas called "Lake view" that are set further back that would be more suitable for people with toddlers.

Myall Shores Nature Resort is a resort with bungalows right at Brombah Broadwater. It's an eco resort so it's very clean - even the toilet flushes with water from the lake. It's very quiet and far away from major cities so you have incredible starlight over the lake, but also no telefone reception

Had a great overnight stay while travelling up to Tweed Heads, and also on our way back South.
Dinner and continental breakfast in our villa - more convenient for us.
Extremely blessed, on our trip back South, to see the "resident' koala sitting in a gum tree near us, scratching himself and feeding off the leaves.
Walking around the quiet resort, right on the Lake, we were amazed at the variety of birds. All in all, while our stay was short, would love to go back for a week or two.

We stayed in a Lakeview villa for two nights. It appears the resort is changing hands again as new managers were trying to work out reception processes, and a broken light fiting over the counter was leaving them literally in the dark. However, all friendly and here's a free bottle of plonk.
Villa was nice and comfortable for a couple. It has two bathrooms and two bedrooms but one small lounge dining kitchen room with one tired fold out sofa would be less than comfortable for 4 friends.
Rooms were relatively clean and tidy. Lots of little sand flies had got in to our unit which was a pain.
We found the location to be nice and peaceful overlooking the lake. We used it as a base to explore the lakes area, heading up to Seal rocks on one day and looping back through Hawks nest the next.
We didn't need restaurant or other facilities, so cannot really comment on them.
All in all, a fairly nice place.

Room Tip: Take some spray for the bugs and some bottle water. The discoloured water is safe, but it is off put...

This is.a special part of the world. The villa is great. The lake front ones are exactly what they say with awesome views from both the main bedroom and the living area. The tranquility of this place is brilliant.
