My family and I visited Hotel Nitana back in April on 2011 while on vacation from the U.S. It was the week of "Holy Week" (Semana Santa) and we wanted to relax for a couple of days. We came without a reservation and the new owners (who happen to be Spaniards) were nice enough to accommodate my family (consisting of 4 adults and two children) for two nights. The Hotel offered clean rooms and complimentary breakfast for the entire family. The hotel has a recently added large pool that was a hit with adults and kids alike.
I do however have two complaints. One of the owners was overly concerned with the children playing in the yard while we (the adults) conversed and watched over them. It made us a little uncomfortable to say the least.
The other complaint we had is that we were not allowed to have food delivered to us by a local restaurant in the area. The owner explained that they offered cooking on the premises and we could bring foods in, but could not have it delivered to the premises. I can understand that they obviously want to cater to the customer’s needs, but I’ve never been in a hotel where I couldn’t have food delivered to us.
The hotel is decent. On a scale from 1-10 I give this Hotel a 6. In its favor is cleanliness, the breakfast offered with the stay and the pool. Against its favor is a short fused owner who although well mannered, was too concerned when children were playing in the yard and could make an exception when it comes to food being delivered to the hotel. In the end the pros offset the cons (but not by much). I would stay here again, but would be weary about how management would react to young children being around.
