It is easy to see why this has been named one of Brazil's most beautiful beaches. Go on a sunny day and you will see turquoise sea and golden sand. It's great for snorkelling too as the water is so clear. Don't be scared by the access. It's just two ladders and some fairly steep steps but it's well worth it. You can walk along the trail at the top to see the famous dois irmãos. We found that the organised island and boat tours stopped here in the mornings, so go in the afternoon for a more peaceful experience.

Fernando de Noronha seems infested with civil workers who waste tax payers´ and visitors´ money, pollute the island and look for new ways of taking advantage of tourist and the local population. Half of the island´s car fleet has stickers with acronyms of numerous government departments and seem to serve only for the personal transport of well fed officials with goofy grins.
As many other places on the island Praia do Sancho now was privatized and can only be visited officially after paying R$ 130,00 (!!!), having your photo taken and all kinds of personal data exposed and saved into the department´s data bank. According to Brazilian law closing and charging access to a beach is illegal but when it gets to exploitation and getting other people´s money without having to offer anything in return, Brazilian laws become very flexible.
There are ways around the checkpoints and you will find even more beautiful spots of the island on your alternative way in! Don´t support corruption, don´t pay to go to the beach!

The scenery is a postcard, just perfect to relaxing, swiming or diving. After one walks the path and arrives at the viewing point on top of the cliff, one understands why Sancho is considered one of the top beaches in Brazil.

Another good photo location. You can take photos both from high up the hill or climb down a ladder to the beach. It often has strong under currents and waves that make it dangerous for swimming.

Indeed one of the most amazing beaches I've ever seen and been to. The sea color, temperature, the fishes the rock wall built from erosion (falesias). Everything makes this as close to what I believe is in fact the paradise. Simply amazing!
