We had dinner @ miriams yesterday and liked it very much. We have chosen a fish ceviche and a fish menu (special menus available every day). I had a fresh maracuja juice, best i ever had!!! The owner was very nice. A nice place to recommend, away from the main plaza.

Had dinner one Saturday evening - no wait, outside/roadside table (not really an issue on Holbox). Possibly the best Tortilla soup i've had (though i was craving it..!), followed by a whole fried fish, also wonderful. Very reasonable prices; i think beer/booze might have been available also. Located just down the street from Viva Zapata, a larger, touristy place. Don't linger in the (single) bathroom..!
Worth seeking out.

This is the best but it is harder to find than most because you can walk right past it. If you are unsure of something the owners will give you a sample. They are open for breakfast and lunch. They make a fresh juice of the day and the Chilaquiles for breakfast is delicious but their empanadas are to die for. Try the ray, they are good but the Chaya were my favorite I went back for one very other day, the corn tortillas are made fresh and the empanadas comes out slightly sweet with a creamy corn flavor, yummy! Also they have the most incredible soups, they have a lobster bisque that was so rich with healthy chunks of lobster and avocado tossed in but my absolute favorite was the cream of Chaya, this was a earthy, peppery, creamy mixture with chunky croutons and diced avocado that gave it textural depth and was just as good hot (when I ordered it) and cold (I had so much I had leftovers but no microwave. The Chaya and queso quesadilla was also good. The food is very economical and hearty, the owners are sweet, find this one!
