Definitely a good stop while on Holbox. Kick back, order a bucket of lil' Coors-ettes and tuck into fresh ceviche to wile away the day with waves and sand and sun and gulls. Not just by the beach, you ARE the beach! Friendly staff will entertain as long as you like.

Superbly fresh seafood, went here every day for a week, everything we had was carefully and exertly cooked. Do not expect great table service. You are better off ordering food and drink at the bar.

I went here twice, on my first night and on my last. The first night, the food was decent, and the service was very friendly and attentive. The second time, my last night there, I waited at a table for some time while the waiter ignored me. After he came up to take care of everyone else around me, I got up and left.

Right on the beach, this is the place to come for a whole grilled grouper with Mayan tikinchic sauce. Ebe and his crew will take excellent care of you and you will not forget this wonderful venue right on the Golfo de Mexico.

Located on the beach approximately 200 yards past Hotel Mawimbi, there is a little collection of huts that is the home to the Raices Beach Club and Marina, which is actually a misnomer since there is no true “marina” but rather a place that the local fishermen bring their boats ashore. But don’t let the thatched roofed huts fool you, this little dive bar on the beach has some of the best food on the island. Plus you cannot beat the location….on the beach.

This restaurant and bar is run by local fishermen who bring their fresh catch and serve it to you. There is no other fresher fish than ones that are caught in the morning by the guys working at the restaurant.

So if you are walking down to Punta Mosquito and just want a beer or a full meal….then do yourself a favor. Stop here and watch the world go by while enjoying some awesome fresh food….. and …..BTW – you are on island time….want fast food? Go to Cancun.
