Holbox is known for its seafood, and Zarabanda makes it super fresh. We were a large group of 8 and asked for separate checks. The staff was very accomodating and service quick. We ordered pitchers of Caipirinhas (popular drink on the island, similar to Mohito), and they arrived right away. We were not even done with our drinks when the food arrived. Everyone was happy with their dishes, but the large seafood combination platter for 3 took the cake. The owner was walking around making sure that everyone is happy. The place is not cheap for the Holbox standard, but the food was well worth it.

An excellent choice in the heart of Holbox. Some reviews may say "off the beaten track" but it's literally one block - about one quarter New York City block from the main square. You are to take in mind, Holbox is tiny. If you are not adventuring outside of the square then you should be staying in Cancun, sorry. On to the atmosphere: Quaint - with subtle decorations - wait, who cares... On to the food! Excellent and fresh seafood, we sampled several dishes which included - fish, conch, crab, lobster and shrimp. The chef was importing lobster at the time because it was not in season. His lobsters were fresh and not frozen (some pizza places were using frozen lobster this week). The fish was caught daily - we had the yellowtail (I actually think we caught this fish on our fishing trip earlier in the day) but either way it was awesome. A total five star place and great friendly staff. Would visit again!

A little off the beaten track and not as glitzy as some of the other establishments this is a true gem. While the menu is wonderful ask Leo what's fresh that day and be prepared to be amazed by both the meal and value. This man does not charge enough for the quality he puts on the table.
