They serve typical Mexican food such as ranchero eggs, chilaquiles, quesadillas, fried beans and handmade tortillas. Also, you can enjoy a fresh squeezed juice and cafe de olla, which is coffee prepared in a pot and sweetended with sugar cane cones or piloncillo. Los Colorines is also a great place to have lunch and enjoy a cold beer on a hot day. Everything in their menu is very tasty, you can’t go wrong with anything you order.

I should have turned right around and left when they told me they were out of lemons. But there's no avoiding Los Colorines if you stay in this city for more than a day. It's very attractive and colorful, and your hotel keeper will probably send you here. Avoid it at all costs. The service and food were atrociously bad. Their speciality, chiles en nogada, was served below room temperature, and the sauce was as sweet as ice cream. Just the memory of it makes me retch. We felt sad for the cook, who couldn't even prepare a basic dish of guacamole. The carne asada was cardboard. We couldn't even make a polite dent in the gigantic portions. Don't be fooled by the colorful and festive interior--go anywhere but here. Tepoztlan has much better restaurants.

Los Colorines is a place to eat Mexican food. Don't expect fancy food with strange sauces and tiny dishes. You will eat plenty and good and at average prices.
The place is nicely decorated with a lot of colours and strips of paper and the tables are also Mexican style.

Food is ok, we had a lentil soup and it was tasteless, the rest of the dishes were much better the portions are big. The decoration of the restaurant is very colorful, nice, I liked it. They do not receive credit cards, so prepare cash. If you go with your car, they have a parking you can use (ask them, they will show you where it is).
