Description: We wish to extend a warm and cordial Island welcome. Whether you are visiting us for business or pleasure we know you will enjoy your experience. We hope it will bring back memories of your "home place".This historic home was built in 1915 by local merchant Parmenus Orr and retains much of the original ambiance through thoughtful renovations, hardwood floors and period furnishings. Many of the family's original furnishings, antiques, photographs and oil paintings, painted by Orr family descendents, hang proudly on our walls. A large verandah on the front of the house is available for "old fashion" relaxing. In 1849, John Orr set sail from Charlottetown Harbour on board the Brig Fanny to seek his fortune in the California gold fields. His interesting account of the voyage is on display and a mural of the Brig Fanny graces the down stair wall. The Home Place Inn has preserved the rich history of the Orr family and we cordially invite you to share this history and experience our comfortable home. We treat our guests as we like to be treated.

We visit the Home Place Restaurant often during our summers and fall in PEI. We truly
love the food...always fresh...and presentation...always innovative and best yet....great value!

All staff have been wonderful. But you can't beat Chef Glenda's daughter who is delightful!

You just have to treat yourself to eating here!!

We had a great supper here. The food was really good and the service friendly & prompt. The restaurant is in the various rooms of a century home which makes for a unique atmosphere. I had the mussels, and then the daily special (pan-fried haddock & shimp in a lemon-dill sauce) and my husband had a salad and then the ginger beef – everything was very tasty, interesting, and generous in quantity. Our only regret is that we didn’t have room for dessert! We would definitely go back.

This lovely old Victorian house has a lovely, warm feel about it! The food is something special and the workers are friendly and helpful. The menu has a nice gluten free selection, and it was just a lovely romantic evening.

Stopped here for an evening meal before a concert nearby. The food was fine, but the portions were very small and the flavours quite average. I don't think I have ever had a smaller chicken breast. Nicely presented, but this is not a fine dining, haute cuisine type restaurant, so I expected the portions would be more reasonable. Server was friendly, but not entirely knowledgeable about the specials.

Amazing food for an amazing price! If you're a fan of oysters, definitely order the pan-fried ones! Their lobster-stuffed mushrooms caps are also to die for. The service is always great there as well, and the atmosphere quite cozy. It's situated in an old Victorian house.
