Excellent place to stay: clean, friendly, ample breakfast and good value for money. Great location, too, within walking distance of the business district of Kensington.

Kensington is very close to St. Mar's Church, where the Indian River Music Festival is held each summer. It's worth going just to see this beautiful historic building!

The Victoria Inn was just what the doctor ordered. My wife and I are in the middle of a 2,000 mile bike tour, and after a day of huge headwinds and big hills, Leyton (the innkeeper) was fantastic. We had phoned from the Kensington Info Center to reserve our room. When we biked over to the Inn 15 minutes later, Leyton had a huge pitcher of ice water with lemons awaiting us. The first order of business was H2O, then checking in. The Victoria Inn is bicyclist friendly.

Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated w/o being too frilly like some inns. The internet worked fine. We are looking forward to having breakfast in a few minutes.

Finally, the price was most reasonable. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

This was the best B&B we stayed at on our two week vacation. We did have the Rosebrier room at the front of the house which was nosey with the windows open, but we were so tired after breathing the island air we were not long going to sleep. The breakfast was an amazing scarambled egg dish along with toast, homemade jams, yogart, cereal and fruit. We already have the Victoria Inn circled for our next visit to the Island

Room Tip: Get a room at the back of the house.

The Victoria Inn Bed & Breakfast is a charming property with beautiful gardens filled with flowers. The owners have put a lot of work into providing a peaceful area to enjoy. My husband and I stayed in the Rosebriar room for three nights, a nice-sized space with a comfortable queen bed, a flat-screen TV, and tastefully decorated with period furniture. Our host, Leighton, was very pleasant and available for assistance at the ring of a desk bell in the foyer. There are thoughtful touches throughout the suite (which has an en suite with a shower), including a binder containing helpful information such as Island sights to see and the hosts’ favourite restaurants. (We took their advice and ate at the PEI Preserve Co. as well as Lotus Garden, both of which I’ve reviewed.)

Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, and I was impressed with the care they took to accommodate for our vegetarian and vegan/diabetic needs. For example, the fresh berries were served with a simple syrup one morning, and they served my husband's without the added sweetness. In addition to a main course each morning, there was a sideboard with fresh fruit, grainy breads for toast with homemade jams, yogurt, coffee, and a variety of teas and juices.

I’d like to echo another reviewer who advised if you like to sleep with the windows open, to request a room at the back of the house, since the property is on the main thoroughfare of Kensington. Rosebriar faces the street, which was fairly busy for a small town. Leighton mentioned that they plan to install air conditioning and also expand their guest parking area.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Victoria Inn to fellow travelers! We really enjoyed our stay!

Room Tip: Request a room away from the street if you like to sleep with the windows open.

Wonderful hosts with scrumptious breakfast and roomy clean accommodations. Only an hour to Charlottetown and 15 minutes to Darnley Beach. Kensington is a sleepy little town but has lots
of character and interesting shops etc. Oysters and mussels from the area are wonderful.

We were on a cycling trip across the island, and the Victoria Inn was a stop in the middle. After a long day of riding, we were warmly greeted and shown our room. Our hosts were so friendly (but not overbearing) and made sure we had everything we needed. The suite was immaculate, and perfectly appointed. After a dinner out at the pub, we borrowed a movie (nice little touch, though don't expect the newest releases) and rested very comfortably. Breakfast in the morning was prompt, delicious, and filled us up for another big day ahead. After spending a week at BNBs across the island, we agreed that the Victoria Inn was the runaway favourite - the perfect combination of convenience (a short distance from the Confederation Trail,) hospitality, and comfort. Would love to go back, and have already recommended it to friends.

Perhaps I'm a different kind of traveller. I love a great sleep and early start to each day...no dust under these feet. We checked into the beautiful Inn late at night, great breeze coming in the windows and then tried to sleep. Hint: get a room at the back of the house - we were on the front of the house - on the town's main street - with traffic. Bed was super comfy! Down for breakfast at 8:10 (yes, that we sleeping in) to be told that breakfast is only served at 8:30. Wish I had been told as we were to pick up friends for the beach at 8:45. We stayed 2 nights (windows closed second night and awesome sleep). Owners are young and keen - we wish them great success with their venture!

Room Tip: Get a room at the back, away from the street, if you want to have your windows open.
