“Perfect getaway”

We stayed for three nights in March whilst waiting for our sailing holiday to start. Annie made us most welcome and our cottage was fantastic. We loved the rescue dogs that follow Annie round all day and the fact that she rides down to the hotel on a donkey. The views from our cottage and from the main hotel area are stunning, as are the sun sets. You can see several of the Grenadine islands and the peaceful situation is one you'd never tire of. The staff were very friendly and the food all locally sourced. Can only say lovely things about this wonderful retreat. Very romantic and perfect place for couples in love.

Couple of thoughts on some observations made by Pecan regarding Petite Anse on the far north coast of Grenada. I too passed by there recently, and couldn't have had a more contrasting, or uplifting, experience. The bar area and terrace with its Grenadine skyline works perfectly well as a place to luxuriate, and the deep English sofas are a comforting accessory. Unconventional maybe, but that's what people like about the place, it's not a run of the mill hotel on a flat beach. Comparing different types of hotel in various beach locations seems a bit harsh--this one's been hewn from rugged terrain and embraces the rural parish community, as all such establishments must if they're to truly succeed So what, if the odd Grenadian takes a dip in a warm pool at weekends? No one should ever feel intimidated either by meeting locals in these parts.Farmers and fisherfolk mainly, they're generally open and engaging. Surprised Pecan didn't take exception to the pet donkey too.

It may be a bit of a journey from St George's but once you're here there's no reason to leave ... Came for a short stay after a hectic week in Carriacou and couldn't have asked for a better location. Rooms were sumptuous on the "colonial'' style, while the staff and owners, Phillip and Annie made you feel as through you'd known them for ever!
Small beach below the villas is perfectly located and even the walk into the next town is a challenge but welcome PT after a night of rum punches !
Worth the visit for a meal or a stop-over..

Having read the reviews of the Hotel we thought it would be a lovely place to visit for a Sunday lunch, we contacted the Hotel beforehand and was told reservation was not necessary. The drive up the island to reach the Hotel was stunning, but once we reached the destination we were somewhat surprised. On arrival very loud reggae music was blasting out of the speakers and we were told the only food available was a BBQ, we were not shown to a table, no drinks orders taken, no condiments on the table - we were both rather surprised as this was not what we were expecting at all. The BBQ was very tasty, but this was not the dining experience we had been looking forward to. As the afternoon progressed we were surprised to see so many children (non residents) jumping in and out of the pool and eating hotdogs and pizza by the poolside. The views from the restaurant were stunning but we thought the decor and ambience rather dated, certainly not on par with La Luna or the Beach house in the south of the Island. We also noticed the poolside beds were very grubby as was the same down on the beach. At one point I had to return to my car in the car park and was so surprised it was so full of local youths hanging around, a group of six men were hanging around by my car and would not move - it was very intimidating. We left somewhat bewildered as the experience we encountered was so at odds with the Hotel website and reviews.

My husband and I and a friend stayed at Petite Anse from12-19 February 2014. This is a small, very attractive hotel with individual cottages in the grounds- all with lovely sheltered large balconies. The dining room and lounge are attractive and inviting with comfortable sofas, lamps and wooden furniture which create a very relaxed but intimate atmosphere. The food is absolutely brilliant- I had fish every night as part of the 3 course meal. The portions are huge and whilst staying here we gave up the idea of lunch as breakfast and dinner were so good. Late afternoon was the ideal time for a piña colada- which are the most delicious I have ever tasted. Breakfast was buffet style with cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cooked breakfast etc. our only criticism was that the coffee was often lukewarm but always cheerfully replaced.

The swimming pool is a delightful area with sunbeds and lovely planting in a sheltered spot- perfect after a day out and rarely crowded. There is quite a strong wind on the balconies and beach- cooling for some and less welcome to others!

We did not have transport as most people did but Annie kindly took us to a beach a couple of times and picked us up which was very helpful. We walked to several different beaches from the hotel which are totally unspoilt and beautiful. We are all very keen swimmers but found the sea was quite rough with a strong pull in the shallows- we tended to 'play' rather than swim. It's certainly not a place for timid swimmers or children.

We absolutely loved the Valentine 's night evening celebrations- after an especially good meal we danced outside to the great sound of the large band and singer. It was a brilliant evening and one I shall never forget. If only that band could come to the uk and play for my birthday!!!!

Although we stayed a week you could get a good idea of the area in a few days. We had already been on an island tour but if you haven't it is easy to get to the Belmont Plantation and rum factory which are very interesting.

You will not be disappointed if you stay at Petite Anse

Room Tip: We stayed in Pineapple directly overlooking the beach with gorgeous views and lots of privacy altho...

Our stay was the second part of our Grenada holiday. Having stayed in the south last year we wanted to explore the north this year. Petite Anse was an inspired choice. A warm welcome from Annie and the staff. Our cottage overlooked the sea and was just a few steps from the beach. But what really impressed us was the quality of the food and service, right down to the smallest detail. The restaurant cum bar cum lounge was just great for chatting.
And all the staff seemed very happy - a sure sign of a good hotel.

Room Tip: You could have a room back from the sea if the roar of the sea distracts you.

From the moment I arrived at Petite Anse - until the moment I left - I was treated like a guest of honor. Annie was a wonderful host and made the trip that much more special for me and every other guest I met while I was there.

I have been to 15 islands over the past 25 years, and many great resorts, and this was one of the very best experiences I've had. The food was great, the chef (Cecil) went out of his way to accommodate my dietary needs, the staff was great, my room was great. I was on a solo trip, and chose PA because I wanted a place to unwind and think. I had ample time for both.

If you want an intimate resort, plenty of time for yourselves, beautiful scenery, great food, wonderful management and staff, all on a great island, Petite Anse is a terrific choice.

Room Tip: I stayed in Palm, which is a stand-alone cottage at the edge of the beach. In my opinion, it is the...
