We stayed one night with Mark and Alicia on the final night of our trip to Dominica to hike the Waitukubli Trail. Pagua Bay house is conveniently located right off the section 7 of the Trail. We loved our stay. Mark and Alicia were wonderful hosts, and even offered to do our laundry at no extra charge. They also provided us a complimentary ride back to the airport with a great driver. The rooms/pool/view were fantastic as well. I would highly recommend a stay!

My husband Rick and I just spent 4 wonderful nights at Pagua Bay. Aleisha and Rick are the best hosts ever. They helped plan our days, made phone calls for us, and were just plain fun to be around. The cabanas are beautiful and comfortable. The surrounding property is beautifully landscaped. Their restaurant and bar was outstanding with freshly prepared meals and daily specials. The fish tacos are to die for and we loved all the interesting new drinks Gabi recommended and prepared for us, The sound of the ocean and the surrounding beauty was peaceful and serene just what we needed! Dominica is an enchanting place to explore with beautiful cascading waterfalls in the rainforest and pods of sperm whales off shore! We can't wait to come back with our daughter.

My boyfriend and I spent five nights here over Christmas 2012 and could not have asked for more. Alicia and Rick (with assistance from Gabi and Lisa) are incredibly gracious hosts, the property is absolutely gorgeous, and the food is fresh and wonderful (the centipede rum punch is not to be missed, nor are the goat tacos). We were initially reluctant to spend that many nights away from the main attractions on the NE corner of the island, but were absolutely delighted we did as there are plenty of beautiful sights nearby; in fact, Alicia led us to an off-the-beaten path destination (Charles Warner Secret Pool) that was one of our absolute favorites. If you're headed to Dominica, stay here. You'll be happy you did.

Absolutely breathtaking! I was expecting a normal Caribbean experience and it was anything but that. The cabanas were basic but with the amenities of any 5 star resort anywhere in the world. The restaurant might have been the biggest surprise. The food was fresh, healthy and absolutely delicious. The calamari was like none I had ever had and highly recommend it. We were lucky enough to have Ricks vacuum packed ribs. UNBELIEVABLE!! I wish our time with Rick and Alicia would have been longer.

I am not exaggerating when I say this place is perfect in many ways.

I prefer small-scale properties, I feel they add more personality and pay better attention to details yet you still have your privacy like at the amazing Pagua Bay. Owned and run by the most caring hosts, Alicia and Rick with the help of an excellent staff, special mention of Gaby.

Pagua Bay is only a few minutes drive from the airport but this shouldn't concern you, if you worried about the proximity you won't be bothered by it. It's an advantage to be able to kick back and relax in paradise shortly after you arrive in Dominica, especially if you travel from far.

I highly recommend Cabana 5 aka Garden Cabana where we stayed. Breathtaking views of the costline from every window, it has a plunge pool, huge covered porch, hammock, very comfortable bed for a good night sleep, huge shower, beautiful floors, cable tv.
It's a new construction, just need finishing touches like more furniture for storage and there's a green fence that gives more privacy that I wished wouldn't be there but that's there only temporarily as the plants will grow and take over its place.

Open, airy restaurant with beautiful scenery. The food is very tasty and fresh. My favorites are the tacos, ceviche, lobster ravioli. Don't skip the rum punch that Gaby makes. Ask for fruits in season. The mango and peach tasted amazing.
There's a great pool by the restaurant with many lounge chairs to relax. You have access to wifi at the restaurant/pool area.

Alicia and Rick will take care of you like you are their close friend. They are very helpful, resourceful and will make sure all your needs are met comes to organizing your activities, need suggestion for a kind of food/drink you never tried, even treat a painful cold sore whipping up some home-made remedy. Any issue might arise will be taken care of promptly.

If you like sunshine, the color of green, the sound of ocean waves crashing to shore, the sound of the orchestra of the jungle and the sound of occasional rainshowers, welcome to zen, complete and absolute peace with nature that Pagua Bay makes perfect.
I'm already planning my next trip.

I can simply not say enough about the property and the owners, Alicia and Rick. The love of my life and I are fortunate enough to be able to travel in our professions and experience amazing accommodations and hospitality all over the world. So, we can honestly and with a full heart say that our experience was the best on the planet! The email correspondence prior to our arrival was quick and answered all of our questions. We flew American Airlines from KS to Dominica. Considering our regional service departure airport and wanting to get the best fare, our trip to and from Dominica consisted of 4 legs each, UGH. This is not for the faint of heart. We choose to overnight in Miami and in San Juan, Puerto Rico, which proved to be a GREAT choice! San Juan is another wonderful place! Alicia met us at the airport, but our bags did not! She took us and two other couples to our rooms, and went back to get our bags! After "settling in" to our room, we opened the door a few hours later and our bags were outside on our patio waiting! For the first few days, Rick and Alicia took us back and forth to the restaurant and to a wonderful hiking trail with a river waterfall and pool, until we acquired our rental car. They arranged everything, it was extremely convenient! The rental car guys brought our little RAV directly to the property and picked it up there a few days later. By doing this, we were able to avoid airport fees.

Every morning Rick or Alicia would sit with us, while sipping bloody mary's (fantastic!), and give us advise on our sight-seeing plan for the day! My best words of advice are, pick TWO sights each day, MAX!!! And if you have time, just ONE! The travel time to and from sights is a big factor, considering the terrain and the road conditions. If you push it, you won't enjoy the ride and what each sight has to offer. Wavine Cyrique and Escape Beach were our favorite places! If you go to the beach, sit, relax, swim and have a "Sandy Toes", a fabulous cocktail! The locals are simply wonderful people. Ask Alicia about her favorite fish tacos, and get directions, they are AMAZING!

Driving at night is also a challenge. Best to be back at the House and at the bar by dark! I CANT WAIT TO GO BACK! There are so many places yet to see. October was a great month. It did rain every night, hard, but the sound of the rain on the tin roof was priceless. The days were perfect, sunny and warm. The restaurant is now at the same location as the cabanas, along with a brand new pool. It was under construction on our visit, so we cant wait to go back and see the final results. We will miss the view from the deck at the old location, though! An unforgettable trip that we plan to repeat frequently!

We liked it here very much. Alicia and Rick are excellent hosts and do everything they can for you and the other staff are great too. The bar/restaurant has good views and serves excellent food - a mixture of international and local fare.

The rooms (cabanas?) don't look much from the outside but are beautifully decorated and comfortable inside and have lovely views across the bay. Particularly enjoyed sitting outside in the cooling ocean breezes.

Alicia is having trouble finding planting to cope with the salt air but when she does that and when they finish the roadworks and sea wall outside, this place will be perfect. Apart from that, all very good and I have no hesitation in recommending Pagua Bay House
