Booked with Villa Basita, however stayed at her daughter in law's place during March 2013. The lunch on arrival was good (although it was slow to arrive), therefore we decided to have dinner as well. Unfortunately it was quite disappointing, we waited ages for the dinner to be ready (which was pre booked well in advance) . Next day the breakfast was even worse, juice was not fresh and from a carton, pastry was horrible and the fresh fruit over ripe. We therefore did not have lunch prior to leaving for Havana. Instead we had lunch at a restaurant near the bus stop called El Olivo which was excellent.
On recommendation from Naylin we took a guided walking tour with her neighbour who could not speak any english and the tour was pretty useless conversation wise and a complete waste of 24 cuc. A guide dog would have been better! However we took another tour with Basita's husband, by Taxi, the next day and it was quite good and comfortable. Stay there, don't eat there and definitely don't take the walking tour!!!
