“Best casa we stayed at in Cuba”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2013

We stayed with Ana Luisa and Jorge in June 2013 for 2 nights. Ana Luisa was a lovely, funny and very hospitable owner. She was very good at taking care of her guests and made us feel very much at home. Her house was very clean and had a well stocked bar fridge in the room. Ana was very helpful with advice on what to do in Vinales, and organised a great horse back ride tour of the tobacco plantations.
Her meals were amazing, and she was very accommodating with requests, and cooked amazing lobster.
It was the best casa we stayed at during our 2 weeks in Cuba.

We could not find enough good words to say about Ana Luisa's casa - it's doubtlessly the best we've stayed in Cuba, and Ana Luisa is in fact the best host I've ever came across in my life so far.

The casa is just located 5-10 minutes by foot away from the plaza, where all the good food and music are located. Ana Luisa was already eagerly waiting for us with a big smile at the corner of the street when we arrived.

To be honest I can't remember the exact details of how the room was like by now - very vaguely it's clean, cozy and spatial. What probably made the entire stay perfect and memorable, however, were Ana Luisa's sincere, bubbly character and her family's (and helpers') hospitality. We used the casa’s washing machine and before we knew it all our clothes were already hanging nicely in the yard to dry!

The food was amazing. Please - have at least one dinner during your stay at Ana Luisa's - you'd not regret it :)

Ana Luisa has also helped us to arrange a horseback riding day trip with Domingo to the tobacco fields. At the end of the trip Domingo took us to his own sweet home where he served us local coffee. Playing soccer with Domingo’s children was definitely another highlight of our trip.

Thank you Ana Luisa and Domingo for this amazing experience.

We stayed 3 nights in this casa during our 2 weeks in Cuba. The owner (Ana Luisa) was very charming and helpful and tried to make us as comfortable as possible.

The casa itself is located 2 blocks from the main road and is therefore nice and calm. It is a quite new casa (no high ceilings here, but quality finishing with a modern touch).

The room was very clean and adequate but lacks a bit of the charm that some of the colonial houses can offer. It was made up however by the quality of the room. The beds were very nice, clean and comfortable. The bathroom looks like it was recently re-done and we had plenty of hot water at all times. The airconditioning was working fine (though a bit noisy, as everywhere we found in Cuba) and it even came with a fridge.

The breakfast was excellent with big portions and a number of different items (large protion of fried eggs, bread, jam, pancakes, fresh fruit and juice as well as grilled cheese toasts. We only had dinner on our first evening and it was good, again with large portions. For 8 CUC each we had fish and chicken, together with rice, salad, fried platains, and sweet potatos. For starter we had a black bean soup and as desert there was Flan. It was very good and plentiful homecooking.

The owner Ana Luisa was always up for a chat and very patient with my Spanish. It is definitely a place we would recommend.

We were very happy to meet Anna Luisa when we found the Casa in Vinales. Anna Luisa is a very friendly host, and takes care that you feel at home right away. We did not have a reservation, but she provided a beautiful, clean and air-conditioned room with excellent sanitary facilities. Dinner and breakfast were very good as well. We could stay for 1 night only, but we would have loved to stay longer. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely stay here. It was our first casa and we didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. Loved the Vinales area and rented some bikes for the day and did a lot of exploring. Highly recommend

I enjoyed 4 nights at this great Casa, 5 minutes from the town plaza. Ana Luisa is the perfect host and is very welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable with a very nice bathrooom.

The food was excellent - I had breakfast and dinner, and the helpings were large - come hungry!

We really enjoyed staying in your casa. Room was clean and comfortable.
Location was very close to the centre and Viazul. Ana Luisa is very nice person.
Price was very good. Vinales has great caves and definetely do the horseriding excursion to the cigar-farmer/cowboy. Even if you have 0% experience with horse riding.
