The bungalows are located in some kind of a park (there were dogs and chickens walking everywhere). - it gives its special “atmosphere” though. 20 km from Vinales.

The (tiny) rooms are worn out, the bathroom disgusting – everything old and dusty.
The swimming pool was dirty – full of leaves and dead insects, few sunbeds, the bar very expensive, drinks of poor quality.

For breakfast – poor and very little, you’ll get one plate – the choice is omelet or some kind of sandwiches, one glass of juice, coffee and tee without limits.

Nobody speaks in any other language than Spanish.

I wasn't expecting top notch accommodation in rural Cuba (I was on a group cycling tour) and this place was a little rough around the edges but fine. Good size pool which was just about clean enough!Lots of chickens, pigs, dogs, horses etc wandering around but all part of the fun! Main complaint would be that it is rather isolated and a bit quiet in the evenings we were there. Food was ok, a bit repetitive and they ran out of bread one breakfast time. Nice cabins to sleep in, and spacious grounds. Probably about 2/3* by Western standards. I don't actually know the cost per night as was booked as part of a tour so not sure whether good value or not.

I stayed here one night during a group tour... no one got a good night's sleep. My room was the only one out of 10 where both the air conditioning and the hot water worked but the air conditioning was so noisy that it was impossible to sleep without earplugs. Those without aircon, however, reported that the road noise combined with the heat was such that they could not sleep.
Avoid it if you can.

Our group was bumped out of Hotel Soroa so that was a bad start compounded by many having to change rooms - terrible drain smells, locks not working and the inevitable Cuban plumbing problems. It is a wonderfully beautiful area and pool but the adjoining road is noisy unless you keep the aircon on to obliterate it. As for the restaurant well we were not as impressed as the previous viewer and it is quite some distance from many of the bungalows especially when it was rainy. Our picnic lunch was about half what most people would eat especially as we were on a walking holiday. The chalets each had a patio/ balcony area overlooking the pool. Aguas Claras maximise your location, sort out the problems and then you will be full.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during a GAP Adventures week-long tour of western Cuba. The hotel is located far enough outside Pinar del Rio city that if you don't have your own transportation you are stuck there. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, though. This 2.5 star resort has a decent restaurant which makes traditional Cuban dishes plus a bar next to the pool that stays open fairly late (we went to bed before it closed both nights).

The rooms are arranged around the pool in bungalows. There are a total of 50 rooms, all of which are air conditioned and have their own private bathrooms (with shower only in our room, can't speak about the other rooms). Our room also had a TV, phone and 2 single beds. It was as far from the entrance as you could get, which wasn't so bad when we checked in and bell boys carried our luggage, but was a (literal) pain when we had to carry it back out of the property.

The Cuban food was good and plentiful, although as is common in Cuba, vegetarian options were limited. My wife is a vegetarian but she eats fish. The restaurant was quick to come up with a fish main course, but it was a deep-fried, breaded, soggy and very, very salty. The pool was always full of people (even if we didn't use it ourselves), and both mornings we saw the hotel staff diligently tending to its cleanliness.

Our only real complaint was that the wiring in our room was somewhat faulty. A fuse would throw itself off once in a while for no apparent reason, but we had someone come out to fix it right away the first time it happened, and then I switched it back on whenever it happened again.

If I was going back to Pinar del Rio, I would definitely consider staying here again.
