We ( family of 6 including grandparents) stayed at the Crane for 5 nights in August 2012 in the sea facing apartments with the plunge pool. Best part of it all was the view when you wake up early in the morning. Cosy and luxurious apartments, plunge pool was a waste bc the water was too cold and the pools were fabulous! The resort was never too crowded and theer was ample space to relax. the beach is a delight, best part being that you can take the elevator straight to the sands. There is a small wood on the beach where local monkeys frequent, you can feed them fruits at around 1pm ( please ask the staff about the timings). The sea is a bit rough compared to the other side of barbados but still great. Food, although expensive, is wonderful. Breakfast was a delight!!! The gym , although small, is well equipped. The spa is great ( do try out the thai massage) we hired a car and drove to Bathsheba at sunrise. Also went to the adjoining Foul Bay, breathtakingly beautiful ( but beware of the small green apples strewn all around- Manchineal fruit, very poisonous and life threatening). Would go to the Crane again , anytime, even if its slightly more ont he pricey side, mainly bc it doesnt feel like the typical chain resorts.
