We didn't use the restaurant but enjoyed the visit to the house. The house is one of the most relaxed I have visited with lovely airy rooms and lots of interesting artefacts and maps etc. The grounds are on the small side but we were able to find a secluded spot to picnic.

We just visited the museum itself. So this is based on the plantation?museum?...For the money to enter I would have expected a finer collection. Worn out old rugs and mediocre furniture. No fresh flowers. Placement of collections done without finesse .Rather stuffy and crude. I questioned a lot of the authenticity on and in collection(s). More enlarged photograghs would be better for the way it was....The paintings and prints or there lack of * there were many dirty stained faded prints...Nothing noteworthy hanging around. Not much there at all that seemed remarkable..The grounds very dull and boring ....Nothing like the museums in the United States. We really were disappointed in the entire experience!

If you hire a car it's worth a visit to see what an old plantation Ouse is like and to take a few pictures. See old horse coaches, cloths and furniture.

Two of us arrived at the same time as two other couples, there was no-one about, so we rang the bell as directed. Still no-one appeared until the first two of four coach parties drew up. Then some disinterested staff appeared to show these coach parties around before a further two coach parties turned up. It was made quite clear that we six individual visitors would have to join the coach parties to look around the house. The house is a jumble of collections of all sorts of stuff, much of it unrelated to the house itself. I was made to feel very uncomfortable when I had the temerity to interrupt the staff conversation to ask a question about one of the exhibits.

We had hoped to enjoy a tour of the house and perhaps have lunch there. We decided to cut lunch (remember the four coach parties). Instead we decided to get a cold drink from the bar - the coach parties were all offered complementary drinks. However we were told that we would have to pay for ours, despite the fact that we had shared the house with the four coach loads.

We went here on a day trip and whilst we had a good time both myself and my wife were expecting the plantation house to be a bit bigger. I think we were spoilt with scenes from films where the houses seem huge. The house and grounds are well worth the visit too as was sampling the rum punch and bajan fish balls.
