Great little local cinema which was good value for the money , and saved us the long drive to Shrewsbury and back .

Great for cheap family day out. A slight delay in getting the most recent films but with deals on Mondays and the cute small cinema it almost feels as though you are watching at home.

Somewhat dated in decor but fully functional and comfy with velour seating.

If you are tired of over priced confectionary and extortionate ticket prices then The Regent Cinema will be a refreshing change. I have only just discovered this lovely old cinema whilst staying locally in Welshpool. It's about a 30minute drive away and a perfect afternoon out on a wet afternoon whilst on holiday.
The staff are super friendly and you buy your chocolate, popcorn etc at the same kiosk as the tickets. Price's are really good tickets for a family of four were less than £20! And confectionary is reasonably priced.
There appear to be two screens, one looks quite small. We were in the main screen watching the BFG. Decked out with the old fashioned red velvet folding seats I remember in the 70's & 80's it feels like a step back in time. If you are tall I would suggest sitting on the end of an aisle as there is not much leg room.
So okay it's not the Odeon for comfort factor but you are not paying Odeon prices either!
I thought the staggered height of the seating in the screen worked really well.
I would definitely go there again.
Newtown itself has really good accessible parking and the local art gallery although small is worth a visit too.
I'm unable to post a weblink but if you search for the Regent Centre in Newtown you should be able to find the Cinema Listings for your visit.

Visited whilst on holiday at one of the local caravan parks to see 'Batman vs Superman'. Was pleasantly surprised there was a cinema in Newtown! We arrived around 20mins before the film started and there was a queue down the stairs, bit concerned the film was going to be jam packed! But i need not have worried!
The tickets were reasonably priced as were the concessions which is always great, £13.50ish for two adults, popcorn and drink. The cinema itself is great, very retro looking, but still delivers the cinema experience. Will definitely be back :)

Great to have a cinema in this small town. Reasonable prices, good sound and screen.
Like it because it's intimate and cosy. The chairs are basic but clean and comfy. Good trip out for all the family.
Good web page
