“Small but perfectly formed!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

It's been a while since we ate or stayed here but the memories of when we did are very clear!
We spent the evening here the night before our wedding in castell deudraeth - back n 2004! Helen a Meic looked after us and our 30 guests perfectly. The food was delicious and the service was unquestionable.

We have since returned on 2 occasions and the whole B&B experience was just as excellent!

We have tried to stay / book tables since - but I think the opening hours etc didn't suit our schedule.... Which was a shame.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hen Fecws... It holds a special place in our hearts x

We did not stay at the hotel however I am sure we would if we were to return to the area. We popped in for breakfast one morning during a week long stay locally. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the breakfast menu and by the amount of local produce that is included. Breakfast was so good that we made a point of returning for lunch one day and once again, we were not disappointed.
All in all, I would thoroughly recommend Yr Hen Fecws and would say judging by the hotel reviews it would be a good place to stay as well as eat.

We stayed at Yr Hen Fecws for 2 nights last weekend. We stayed in a twin room downstairs. It was beautiful. Helen met us on arrival (even though we were late with the busy traffic on the A55) - she made us feel really welcome which was much appreciated after a long journey!. The room was perfect, beautifully decorated and looked out onto a small park. Right by the harbour too. The breakfast was lovely - everything we would have wanted. Next time we stay we will try lunch too :) All in all Helen & Mike could not have been more welcoming and hospitable. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant in a morning. Would highly recommend this 'home from home'!

My husband and I have just come back after spending one night at this wonderful B&B. The rooms are beautifully decorated, superb location and Michael is so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was delicous with a wide range. You really are in the heart of Porthmadog here and I couldnt think of anywhere better to stay. I highly recommend.

A friendly little place with beautiful well kept rooms. They could not do enough for us and our little girl. A perfect base to explore Borth y gest and Porthmadog itself. A couple more towels in the bathroom would have made it a little bit better, my hair needs one for itself!

Thank you all for being so lovely.

Great B&B in Porthmadog.
Rooms are clean & bright and the breakfast is great.
Michael Hughes is very helpful, pointing us at local walks and pubs and where the nearest ATM is.
Go there, we'll definitely be back.

What a lovely and friendly B&B. The rooms are a bit tight but neat & of course people were smaller when this was built. The rooms are nice and clean and very comfortable and the breakfast, cooked to order and cooked to perfection.
It's next door to a pub and only 3 minutes walk to the railway station and harbour
