This was my fouth visit to The Moorings with an intention to stay for two nights but ended up staying for four. Andrew is a very welcoming host and since my first visit he keeps adding to and enhancing the facilities. It started by re-buiding the path to the front door with raised flower beds to each side. This was followed by Wi-Fi, visitor laundry facilities (not sure about the ironing) and now a gleaming new kitchen. This is where Andrew prepares his wonderful full Scottish breakfasts - you will be missing out if you don't have the fresh fruit starter. Andrew keeps the place in immaculate order with a homely feel.

It is a cottage so if you are way above average height, it may be a case of "duck or grouse" when on the first floor. The location is brilliant being by the waters edge leading to the harbour. This is an ideal place to stay if you are using it as a stop-over when visiting the islands of as a base for exploring the area. I would be very grateful if there was a vacancy when I next wish to visit..

We love visiting Tarbert and staying at The Moorings with Andrew. We wouldn't stay anywhere else! Walk up the steps to the front door through a beautiful garden full of interesting knick knacks and wildlife, into a lovely house with an eclectic collection of goodies. The house is absolutely immaculate, the rooms are spotlessly clean, we have stayed in 3 of the rooms and all of them have lovely comfy beds, with beautiful linen. En suite facilities are spotless and nice hot showers. Breakfast is something else, beautiful fresh fruit salad followed by full Scottish with Stornaway black pudding - absolutely delicious! Andrew now has the added addition of facilities where you can leave your bicycle and any wet gear to dry - very useful if you are a keen walker or biker. There is off road parking directly opposite the house - perfect. Andrew is a great host and we love his stories. Already looking forward to our next trip............

Room Tip: We like one at the front overlooking the sea, but they are all great - very comfy beds. As previously stated in other reviews it is an old fishermans cottage and does have a sloping roof, but this adds to the entire charm of the B&B

The Moorings well how do we describe it,( Just sublime ) from the moment you arrive Andrew makes you so welcome as well as his two lovely dogs, then of coarse the breakfast once you have Andrews breakfast no more food for the rest of the day. You will not find a nicer cleaner and friendlier B&B in Tarbert, So go on give him a try you,ll keep going back.See you next year Andrew.

Visiting Andrew at The Mooring in Tarbet was a delight from opening the garden gate.
The garden was full of colour, with hidden surprises around every tree and bush.
The converted fisherman's cottage is extremely clean, with comfortable beds.We had a
room with bathroom en-suite and a magnificent view over the harbour
Our breakfast started with real fresh fruit salad, orange juice, and then a 'Full House'
toast, and coffee that set us up for the day - no lunch required. Andrew showed us his
kitchen, which is out of this world.
Andrew is a extremely charming and friendly man, a lovable character - we could do with more of his type - most visitors have been back time and time again .
So shall we - well worth five stars.

Room Tip: Harbour view best - but all very good.

We stayed for three nights and Andrew was a first class host. Very clean house. Breakfast would set you up for the day and served at a time that suited you. The house and garden are a riot of conversation pieces with plenty to amuse. Very quiet location, good views, parking ok, short walk to harbour (2-3 minutes) or the ferry. When we are back in the area we would definitely stay there again. Stuart and Sheila.
