Couldn't get booked in at this hotel but tried out the restaurant anyway and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We arrived just outside of the lunch hour but the chef was on hand to meet our needs before continuing our journey into the village of Tarbert.
We would definitely plan ahead the next time and book well in advance, from what we saw its well worth it.

Great 4 night stay, massive room on 1st floor with equally massive bath & shower. A very warm welcome from Rosaline on our arrival and genuine concerns for the enjoyment of our stay as a national emergency to get everyone connected back with power on the entire Kintyre penninsula just south of us and on the island of Arran was in full swing. This we were aware of.
Our stay was enhanced by the added buzz/banter in the bar from many hard working, tired, hungry great bunch of guys (linesmen) working full pelt in icy cold winds and snow drifts to get the job done.We had a limited menu at dinner for the duration, which under the circumstances was fine by us, as the hotel had so many to feed. This was reflected in our bill. The staff realy attentive and put in long hours. Well done.By the way we never saw snow except on the distant mountains, and did what we came for, a bit of walking and unwinding.
Recommended by 2 happy customers.

What an adventure that was! You were both fantastic throughout. Being at the hub of a national emergency isn’t something many of us get to experience and as we all saw first-hand it was quite chaotic at times. So, it was marvellous that you decided to stay nonetheless. I really hope that you are able to come back to Kintyre for more walking and unwinding and experience the Hotel and the surrounding area in full swing. Thank you.

We stayed overnight at The West Loch Hotel before catching the Islay Ferry, and were very comfortable in 2 rooms on the top floor, with an unbeatable view.
Communication was first class from our initial phone query and subsequent emails to and from Rosaline, we found everyone friendly and helpful. They even got me decaff teabags especially!
We didn't have dinner there on this occasion, but breakfast was very nice, with plenty of choice, and great service at the early hour we requested.
I'd have no hesitation in staying again.

We only stayed for one night before catching the ferry to Islay and we couldn't fault a thing........ Very much made to feel welcome by the owners, the room was clean with a large ensuite and the food was divine and cooked to perfection using locally sourced produce. Would definitely recommend a stay at West Loch!
