“On the up!”

New owners and let's hope that they succeed where others have failed.
Had two meals here - a light lunch and a few weeks later an evening meal. Both were good value for money, very tasty and obviously prepared with a great deal of care.
I would have given a rating of 5 but I am waiting to see if things progress as well as the new owners seem to want it to.
Friendly staff and owners who were mucking in! Good time had on both occasions.
My wife and I will be back!

We had a great lunch here a couple of weeks ago, en route to Carradale. The food was superb and the staff were really friendly - I think we spoke to all four owners! It's very child friendly with excellent changing facilities and toys on hand to keep the littlies busy.

We will definately be back.

I spend a lot of time in hotels and have seen horrors like you would not believe and many of them in Argyll! However, the West Loch is a breath of fresh air.

On arrival, the proprietors were friendly and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed - right down to takeaway cups for coffee as we had an early departure the next day!

The food was outstanding, lots of locally sourced goodies cooked to a high standard with an excellent selection of wines to accompany. The wait staff were quite young but, very well trained and very attentive.

The only thing I would comment on in the restaurant was the music, it was a bit intrusive but then, it was a decent selection!

The rooms were well decked out and comfortable.

The West Loch deserves more than the two stars it has been awarded!

I've been back since and will definitely go again!

My husband and I and our two daughters have just arrived home after a two night stay at the west loch hotel. We had a wonderful stay and can't recommend the hotel enough! The room was fabulous and more than ample for us size wise. The food was incredible too. My husband had the fish and chips both nights as it was so good as did my 3 year old daughter who particularly loved the fresh peas and fish. I had the most beautiful scallops one night and langoustines the next. Amazing! The staff were so kind and friendly and nothing was too much effort.
We will definitely be returning as we are looking at a plot of land nearby.
Don't think twice about visiting the hotel-just go and enjoy all the great things it has to offer!!

Room Tip: The bath in the superior room is fabulous!

spent a lovely evening at the hotel, though we were not staying in the hotel the staff couldn't have been more helpful, from the minute we enquired if it was possible to have a meal , right till the end of our evening,We had a pre dinner drink in the lounge & whlie we enjoyed the scenery over the loch, an Osprey came hunting over the water & we saw it swoop & catch a fish, no one else saw it , but we said if it returned we'd let them know, Later while we were in the dining room it paid another visit, so the staff & the other diners got to see this womderful bird hover over the loch. The waiter was very attentive & the food was excellent, looking forward to making a return visit.

"She Who Would Command" and I stopped by the hotel for lunch after getting off the ferry from Islay - as we have for many years. But...but this year we were gobsmacked by the simple yet remarkable lunch we had. SWWC had soup while I tucked into the best fish and chips I've had in years.

What's more they've made some alterations on the ground floor, and the effect is smashing!
